Town Keen to Loan Manchester City Youngster But Bolton Favourites
Thursday, 8th Jun 2017 20:11

Town are interested in signing Manchester City winger Bersant Celina on a season-long loan but newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers look favourites to land the 20-year-old Kosovo international.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Blues and Wanderers are both in talks with City regarding Celina, however, while TWTD understands the Blues are keen, the interest is yet to progress that far.

Celina, who is currently away with the Kosovo U21 squad ahead of a game in Norway, the country where he lived from the age of two and with whom he won caps at U15, U16, U17 and U21 levels, has already met with Bolton manager Phil Parkinson and been given a tour of the Macron Stadium.

“I know that Bolton are keen on signing me,” he confirmed to Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten. “But we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, there are other interested clubs as well.

“But I think Bolton would be a good club for me. It’s a club that belongs in the Championship or Premier League.”

Celina, who joined Manchester City from Norwegian club Strømsgodset as a 15-year-old, spent 2016/17 on loan with Dutch side FC Twente, scoring five times and picking up five assists in 27 appearances. Twente are said to keen for him to return next season.

Capped six times by Kosovo at full level, scoring once, Celina has made one Premier League sub appearance for City in addition to two starts and one game from the bench in the FA Cup.

BUT we weren't voted the most boring team in europe this year (4-4-2), which has got to be a blessing.

Burton would be favorites over us. Who wants to play for the daily crap we put out each game.

LWNR2013, I can assure you that the £ DIDNT come from Marcus Evans , nor will it. Even his suits don't have pockets .

Shaky, I already worked that out. But we are what we are now, not what we were, and not what it seems the current regime is planning to buy our way back to.

What hope do we have for the season ahead?
Our best player has returned to his parent club
Our best defender has left
We only seem interested in loan players and are outbid with anyone decent
We topped the league for the most long balls/inaccurate passes etc
I feel sorry for the youngsters such as Doz and Bish
Absolutely no motivation or reason to pay for one of the highest priced season tickets and can genuinely say that I am glad that we have a break and am not looking forward to 2017/18

How can they justify the ridiculously high prices for tickets when the end product is so poor????. Many other clubs are able to play decent football with a much lower cash flow than ours so it can only be the awful standard of management. Mick must go now!!!!!!

You know what is coming next out of PR----it is we the fans that will be blamed for lack of investment because we did not buy enough season tickets----it will be our falut.

Perhaps the numpties who run the club should ask why season ticket sales are so low,and when come up with obviuos answer do something about it!!

What a poor story i dont see the point in putting it on the site. i really do believe that this site has become a PR outlet for Evans.

Why do people keep saying they are against loans? Huddersfield had five in their squad last season and gained promotion, it can work so don't dismiss it.

who wants to come to a tight a*sed club like ours

Yes it does work but not with 18 year old kids and McCarthy at the helm

When Bolton where relegated to league one I always said they would be in the premiership before Ipswich, so I don't think we've got much chance of signing this boy.

Mick will always prefer loan players as he can always hide behind not spending any money for the dull football.
If he was to spend £2m-£3m on a player like we are all asking, he would then need to justify that with the results and perhaps even style of play. However, it is easier to spend no money in the transfer market (but still shell out £2m-£3m on wages) and many people especially those in the media will say what a great job he has done with no funds.
We were paying for 7 Jan transfer signings, but only playing one or two. Now that is expensive !!!

How Ledley is available on a free would add some creativity. Alex Bruce is on a free would offer ideal defensive cover back at PR, Will Buckley is free and would add some culture and skill from midfield.

Those plus a 4 ton5 million outlay on Ward and Huws plus a couple of supplementary loans and I'd be fairly happy.

When was the last time we were actually favourites to sign anyone, it's been very boring for along time, what a disaster Marcus Evans has been for this football club

SheptonMalletBlue added 15:15 - Jun 10
Why would any decent young player want to come and play for McCarthy? !!!!

midastouch added 18:17 - Jun 10
Aside from loaning players, Evans is going to need to loan in a few thousand extra supporters next season as Portman Road is going to be like a morgue if the Dinobore is still in charge, which it looks like he most likely will! I can't believe Milnedew is still backing him, what are these guys on!!!?? Crazy! TWTD = Total Waste, Total Disaster! And that's not a pop at the site (as very much like TWTD), the makeshift TWTD acronym is aimed both barrels at Ipswich PLC Town, the club that continues to sink deeper and deeper in the abyss! McCarthy is like Captain Nemo, he's taking our attendances 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! And he might take us a few leagues lower as well if we're not careful!
