Lawrence Wins Players' Player of the Year
Tuesday, 2nd May 2017 23:26

Top scorer Tom Lawrence was named the Town Players’ Player of the Year at this evening’s End of Season Dinner at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall.

The on-loan Leicester man also carried off the Goal of the Season gong for his brilliant strike at QPR in January, which he named his favourite of his 11 for the Blues following Saturday’s home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. The Wales international's goals against Blackburn and Preston tied for second.

Keeper Bartosz Bialkowski, named the Supporters Club’s Player of the Year for the second season running at Saturday's Player Awards Evening, added the Corporate Customers, Sponsors and Box Holders' Player of the Season award to his mantelpiece.

Bialkowski, last season's Players' Player of the Year, also carried off the Junior Blues Player of the Year and the Platinum Supporters' Award at the weekend.

The winner of this year's John Kerridge Memorial Trophy, the manager’s choice award, was Grant Ward, while Tristan Nydam won the Young Player of the Year award.

I was fortunate enough to be in the School End in January to see that screamer smack in off the post. A worthy winner.

Glad Bart won the fans' award but to be fair to Tom, he did deserve some sort of formal recognition for what he's done for the team this season, regardless of his loan status.

Tom deserves it because without him or Bart we would be relegated.

Richly deserved by Bart and Tom. Now is MM going to gave to find another high quality winger for next season on loan or can Danny Rowe step up? Its a huge ask but he has impressed so far.

Surely Kenlock should have taken the Young Player award?

Have to agree that Lawrence and Bart both played a huge part in keeping us from being relegated - and that's why they won their awards.

Lets hope that the awards are based on something more positive next season.

Bart has easily been our best and most important player this season. Kept us in (so many) games and this league single handedly (no pun intended....i think) at times.

Let's hope they voted for Tom as they feel there is even a glimmer of a chance he could be here next season. Am still a dreamer.

PS did anyone watching Bart doing the lap of honour (?!) and think his demeanour screamed "goodbye"?

Maybe not such a dreamer after all as that would be a nightmare scenario.

So Lawrence is player of the year what a load of nonsense, only one choice that is Bart the only class act in the whole team

Young Player award is for academy players so Myles Kenlock not eligible.

Yes,I agree with posts,Bart has by far been our saviour and most consistent player over the season. But then again had Tom not scored all his goals we would have been in the bottom three also.So full credit to both of them.Somehow I think Bart won't be here next season, just hope I'm wrong.🤔

Who won the ' proper bloke' award

Bart should have won this by a country mile. Sky Sports mentality - goalscorer gets man of the match.

also, Lawrence didn't deserve a gong after the yellow card that got him suspended mid-season…

I made a comment a while that I had attended quiet a few away matches and you called me a bl...y martar.
Well here you are telling us all you have renewed your season ticket for next season, is that not the same thing! But I won't stoop to your level of language.

All the players were shown going up and being presented with their respective awards EXCEPT our gk.I wonder what the reason was or this?
