Town Linked With Aberdeen Winger McGinn
Sunday, 2nd Apr 2017 12:00

Town are reported to be the latest club to show interest in Aberdeen’s Northern Ireland international winger Niall McGinn, who is out of contract in the summer and set to leave Pittodrie.

According to the Daily Record, the Blues are the most recent side to have “registered an interest” in the 29-year-old, who scored his 13th goal of the season in Friday's 7-0 win at Dundee.

League One promotion chasers Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers are also said to be keen on the former Dungannon Swifts, Derry City and Celtic man, who also spent time on loan at Brentford earlier in his career, while Hearts and Oxford United have reportedly both offered him a pre-contract agreement for next season.

Town boss Mick McCarthy is said to be a big fan of the wideman and hopes to bring him to Portman Road.

McGinn, who has won 50 full caps, scoring three goals, was previously interesting the Blues in 2008 when they lost out to Celtic.

...... he'd try to convert him to a full back, or defensive midfielder, within the first week anyway.

Why this obsession with wingers when Muck the moronic would never play one anyway. The pressing need for us is a couple of midfielders with class and attacking skills and of course a manager with some idea of how to set a team up properly. Just sod off now you pathetic leftover of the 1950's.

Sign him on, especially if it means Freddie Sears can move back to striker where he was scoring regularly until MM moved him out of position and has hardly scored since.

How our club is being run at the moment we would struggle to attract a madman to come to ITFC let alone a professional footballer our club is slowly dying while we have an owner who's only purpose for ITFC is to use it as a tax loss write off the only direction we are heading is down. We need a young manager to bring the kids through bring some pride back and hopefully some optimism

To all who say MM would never let a winger do his stuff anyway, think back to a certain RYAN FRASER. I don't recall Mick ever cramping his style, and we looked good when the little beggar was fit and firing on all cylinders.

Aberdeen have a reasonably good manager we should be looking at as well.
though i think we should get away from the celtic influence of micks and go dutch for a decade or so.
