Skuse a Doubt for Villa Trip But Injury Not Serious
Monday, 6th Feb 2017 16:54

Midfielder Cole Skuse is a doubt ahead of Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa due to the injury he suffered during the first half of Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Reading, but a scan has shown that the 30-year-old’s problem is not serious.

“Skusey has a heavily bruised lower calf and achilles,” Town physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“It depends on how it settles down over the next couple of days as to whether he has a chance of making the Villa game.”

In Micks interview after the match when asked if he would be fit and if he would play against Villa, Mick said who wouldn't want Skusey in their side.
In all honesty me for one (and by the look of it I am not the only one) !!!
I have been saying for a while now I do not believe he warrants his place in the starting XI, and Saturday only enhanced my belief. I like the look of Diagouraga especially if he becomes match fit. IMO that should be our first (and more realistic) signing for next season. Diagouraga physique in the middle gives us a presence in the centre and allows other more skillful players to do what they are best at (not running back to cover and defending).
However If Skuse is not back against Villa due to injury he will definitely be back against Brighton (Also Diagouraga can not play against Leeds the game after)
I will also say that this better performance was also enhance by Taylors obvious leadership skills which we have lacked for a while now.

Heathen66 - I agree entirely. I do though wonder what Leicester would want for Lawrence. If we actually did have c4m available for bids in January I would be happy to use the full amount on signing Tom, Toumani and Emyr. We have enough players to cover other areas especially if Tommy gets going again and if Berra leaves.. .....
