Kenlock, Bru, Ward and McGoldrick Return Against Bristol City
Friday, 30th Dec 2016 19:00

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made four changes to his side for this evening’s home game against Bristol City with Myles Kenlock, Kevin Bru, Grant Ward and David McGoldrick all coming into the team.

Jonas Knudsen, Freddie Sears and Andre Dozzell drop to the bench, while Jonathan Douglas is left out of the 18.

The Blues and Robins, whose only win in their last 10 games was their 2-0 victory over Town at Ashton Gate earlier this month, both look set to line-up in 4-4-2 systems.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Webster, Berra, Kenlock, Skuse, Ward, Lawrence, Bru, McGoldrick, Pitman. Subs: Gerken, Emmanuel, Knudsen, Dozzell, Sears, Varney, Best.

Bristol City: Fielding, Little, Flint, Magnusson, Golbourne, Freeman, Brownhill, Pack, Tomlin, Wilbraham (c), Abraham. Subs: O’Donnell, Moore, Bryan, O’Dowda, Paterson, Reid, Engvall. Referee: David Coote (Nottinghamshire).

Douglas shouldn't even make the squad including thee academy but how one week he starts then doesn't make thee 18? I'm pleased to say the least but this for me tells me mick is completely clueless and should be relieved of his duties! Good luck to kenlock 2nite.. should start every week anyway! We lose this and afraid he must go... if not already with the least ambitious owner to date!

At least we have 11 players on the pitch tonight.Don't agree about the criticism about skuse as you need a defensive midfielder

Can't make today's game due to previous arrangements - shame it was moved to a Friday night! But this team looks much stronger and more attacking. Douglas is surplus to requirements full stop. Will keep an eye on the scores!

Skuse not a terrible player as defensive midfielder
Can't say the same for the right back
Bench looks a bit weak only Freddie who could add something to the team
Decided to stay at home and not make another 360 mile round trip to be bored senseless.but still hoping

He's made changes, aside from Kenlock, which was forced upon him. That's a positive. Bristol C are in a similar league position to us, it's a must win. As for the thoughts of the mindless regarding Evans' plan, unbelievable. What do you want Tractor fans? We could spend & hope to get to then promised land. Fail? We're finished. We could get a Chinese (other nationalities are available) owner who couldn't care less. No thanks. We are where we are. Be careful what you wish for. Look at Charlton, Bolton. Portsmouth etc. COYB.

Finally McCarthy has bowed to the fans & given us something to near what we want, he wouldn't see it that way, he'd say it was his ideas, he knows his arse is against the wall, you know we'll win tonight, this nightmare will continue for another 3 games..... #mccarthyout

The team everyone has been bitching about.

McCarthy has made the changes you all want.........so if we lose tonight you are all as clueless as you say McCarthy is.

Will be interesting as Bristol are a poor side if they only one win in 10.....at least 3-0 with this side we expect to be in the top 2

At least on paper, it looks more attacking than usual. We are crying out for a creative central midfielder. Bru always seems better as an impact sub, never seems to the job starting. With the hopeless style of football we play, I'd have started Best instead of Pitman who most certainly isn't a target man.

Better team, now we'll have to what tactics he employs. My money's still on turgid given that McCarthy can't do anything else. A decent Manager could get that team playing entertaining expansive football.

Must win game but it was when they beat us 2-0!!!

Skuse is beyond average. The reason why we appear to be so open is that he can't do anything except seat around the halfway line and ask the opposition to run at us.

We got rid of players like JET because they didn't offer any defensive qualities to the team - and forwards in MM teams are expected to track back. But Skuse can just seat and do almost nothing.

Closer to the team that should play, although Sears down the middle for some pace is required in my opinion. Now it is down to the players, although what have they been told to do will bear heavily on the performance... COYB

Much better selection but the elephant in the room is Chambers! Sort it McCarthy and move on!

Agree Skuse is main problem, sideways or backwards passing.

Doesn't matter what players or formation it is the style and coaching that has ruined a capable squad of players confidence and ability . MM may kid himself but body language of players doesn't lie time for a change
