Swans Linked With Williams
Wednesday, 14th Dec 2016 09:44

Swansea City reportedly could be interested in signing Blues loanee Jonny Williams from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.

According to The Guardian, Williams’s parent club Palace want to add a left-back to their ranks during the window with the loan of Tottenham’s Ben Davies top of their wish list.

However, Swansea’s Neil Taylor is another alternative and that potential deal could include Williams, who was previously linked with the Swans last January and also in the summer of 2014, moving in the opposite direction.

Williams is due to stay with the Blues until the end of the season but Palace are understood to be able to cut the loan short in January.

The 23-year-old Wales international, who has another 18 months left on his Palace contract, has made seven sub appearances during what is his fourth loan spell with the Blues, having spent the first few months of the campaign recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in pre-season with Palace.

He'd have to have quite a few games with the U18's @ Swansea to get back to full fitness, he's gotten stiff being sat on the bench doing f**k all for 5 games.

Goodbye Jonny

Use him or lose him. MM said himself that Jonny sparked the team into life when he came on v Brum. Same when I saw him home v Rotherham. So wtf is he playing at? Must be that we pay a portion of his wages on a per game played basis. Idiots.

Wouldn't be a surprise if Palace exercised their recall in January - either to have him back there or to sell on. They must be as bemused as a lot of us as to why Jonny isn't starting games here now he's fit. If he went to Swansea he'd probably get Premier League games, whereas for whatever reason MM doesn't seem to think he can get into our side apart from as a sub.
Wonder if Swansea would be interested in the guy that is keeping Jonny out of our side, given how he's 'different class'. Whether Douglas would be interested in the move, I'm not sure.

Oh well, that's the one decent player leaving then, and I can't say I blame I'm one bit. At least at Sea sea he'll be playing in a proper footballing side.

What a bloody disaster Mick is to ITFC now.

Makes me laugh, cry, wee myself all at once.

Why can't MM play him........If a Prem team want him it shows he has true quality.

This simply confirms the blinking obvious.....MM has run out of ideas.

What are Swansea playing at? Surely as a Premier League side they should be going for players that keep Williams out of the side like Douglas?! He's a different class after all...

There is something odd underlying this whole episode with Williams.
WHERE'S EVANS?

no surprise, the lad has quality, when he first came Mick was prepared to play him but he is now in self preservation mode

@Carberry
Aye where is the hyper elusive Marcus Evans indeed???

Hmmmm an "educated" guess could be somewhere in Brazil (given that the 'Brazilian Fraud Unit' has an warrant out for his arrest!!!) .... like here for example:

or maybe at this slightly more cozy location here:

:-) :-) :-) :-) LOL

So he's deemed good enough to have the potential to possibly stake a claim in the Premier League. But as far as Mick is concerned, he's only good enough for a little run for the last 20 minutes and the rest of the time he's wasting his talent in the U23s, what is going on!!!!???? It makes no sense whatsoever!

Do Swansea want to sign ExSkuse or Douglas CostaNotAlot or Varneyrama, of course not! Nobody in the Prem in their right mind would touch the trio with a barge pole! But Mick he knows best, well not any longer, he's totally lost it, in fact did he ever have it? His record in the Prem strongly suggests otherwise!

Evans we can't hear you!!!???? WTF is going on????

Statement please!!!

Surely we deserve at least some honest clarification on the future you see for Ipswich under your stewardship. We're losing faith and you really need to speak now to hopefully restore it.

No surprise that a Prem team wants him. Why can't Mick see the ability he has? Whatever was the point of bringing him on loan, helping him recover and not playing him? Then letting him go in January because he must be getting a sore bum sitting on the bench for so long.

If he has any sense he will be off like a shot. Such a shame as he could turn our season round if Mick would give him full games. How Douglas gets in ahead of him is madness.

I'm not big on Twitter and all this hashtag stuff really isn't my area, but how about a hashtag such as "Evans We Can't Hear You???"

Well if the rumours are true and we paid a million to have him on loan then that was money well spent!!!!
7

midastouch added 11:14 - Dec 14
If we wasted 1 million on a player just to primarily sit on the bench for a couple of months, that's a shocking waste! If I was Evans I'd be furious about such waste!

Surprised Swansea aren't interested in Douglas, given he's ahead of William's in our pecking order.

Carberry, We have been asking that question since he took over, he is only to be found in Dickens book Christmas Carol . I cant imagine we would sign Williams Evans wouldnt cough up and he dosnt fit into Micks ''style'' of football, he just gets sent on to wake the fans up when they have gone to sleep ,he will be gone.

BrettenhamBlue added 11:47 - Dec 14
We now know where most of the Murphy money went. What an outrageous waste, and that's just the fee to Palace. Add-ons will make that figure higher. So now we lose Williams and have no money in Jan to replace him either. It's all going well at the club.

jas0999 added 12:04 - Dec 14
Surely they would be better signing Skuse or Douglas because in Micks mind they must be better if Williams can't get in the team above them?

I want to know where all the MM backers are today who claimed that when we had Williams and Bishop and Dids back MM would change his style and he has been held back by not having the players available and when Best gets fit he will score goals etc etc
Your excuses and constant backing of a hapless manager have kept him in a job since September and nothing has changed 3 months down the line .
An empty stadium on home games would force Evans to do something

Big Mick is right about one thing .. Douglas is different class, the rest of the team are distinctly mediocre whereas Douglas is fcuking awful !!
