McGoldrick in U23s at Colchester
Monday, 17th Oct 2016 11:23

Striker David McGoldrick will make his return from injury when Town’s U23s face Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this evening (KO 7pm).

The 28-year-old has been out of action since rupturing ankle ligaments in the EFL Cup defeat to Stevenage at Portman Road in August.

Speaking at the end of last week, manager Mick McCarthy said that if all goes to plan McGoldrick could be in the first-team squad for Saturday’s game at Newcastle.

Also involved against the U’s will be keeper Michael Crowe, who made his Wales U21s debut last week, and midfielder or forward Monty Patterson, who netted his first full international goal for New Zealand.

Admission is on the door at £10 for adults, £7 for over-65s, £5 for under-18s and £3 for under-14s, while under-11s can get in for free.

Some people on here are so negative. Try a little positive thinking for a change. McGoldrick back in action is the best news for this club in months and could be the key for a good run up the table.

I agree a fit Goldie would be good news, but i feel he is injury prone and you cant count on him turning things around, it wouldnt be fair to expect it either .I hope this is not a ''stunt'' by McCarthy, trying to get fans back ,and he returns too soon .Good luck to him, talented player.

Can he play RB ? More seriously for a moment. Really hope he can stay fit and that this idiot of a manager plays him. We are desperate for some creativity NOW but he still leaves creative players out. When he's gone the ITFC we all live will have a chance to be reborn and players like Didzy will have a chance to perform along with the likes of Joniesta Grant Bish etc. Until then we have to hope another 30+ 0-0 draws is enough to stay up.

Good luck tonight Didzy stay fit come thru the game and show this pill0ck that you don't have to only run around like a headless chicken for 90 mins to be classed a good footballer !!!
