Bru Replaces Bishop for East Anglian Derby
Sunday, 21st Aug 2016 11:15

Kevin Bru replaces Teddy Bishop, who drops to the bench, in an otherwise unchanged side facing Norwich City in this afternoon’s East Anglian derby (KO midday).

The Blues look set to operate in the same 4-3-3 system they used during the 0-0 draw at Wolves on Tuesday.

Striker Brett Pitman returns to the bench having missed the last three games with a thigh injury.

Ipswich Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Webster, Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Douglas, Bru, Ward, Sears, Murphy. Subs: Gerken, T Smith, Kenlock, Bishop, Dozzell, Varney, Pitman.

Norwich City: McGovern, Pinto, Bennett, Klose, Brady, Tettey, Mulumbu, Howson (c), Naismith, Hoolahan, Jerome. Subs: Jones, Whittaker, Martin, Bassong, Canos, Lafferty, Jacob Murphy. Referee David Coote (Nottinghamshire).

Certainly a team which is capable of being competitive. However, midfield looks uninspiring. Skuse/Douglas hasn't worked too often at home. Bru is a big risk, particularly after his poor start to the sason. However, he does have quality and one telling ball or good shot could prove the difference. Equally he may go completely missing for 90 minutes! Not long to find out now!

If only we had our creative players fit last year it could have been so different , but when they are available they are played out of position or dropped to fit in such great players like Skuse Douglas and Bru , you couldn't make the words up .
Up the blues but fancy we are trying to prevent a whopping rather than win

Depends who the budgies field but Town's midfield doesn't inspire confidence.

Plenty of names in the starting line up I'd rather not see there particularly Douglas but forever hopeful.

Douglas has one reasonable game and he's back in and have to say that Midfield doesn't look very potent does it, just there to stop them playing without much creativity!? Best of luck lads, over 7 years since we beat them.

Do we really care........ We will lose no matter what side we put out

And then we can read obout donkey Douglas and get MM out.....
Face facts we are an average Championship side and where we sit before this game is where we will end up at the end of the season.
Not scored in three games so why expect the side to score today.
