No Fulham Move for Smith
Monday, 18th Jul 2016 16:54

TWTD understands that reports that Fulham are set to make a move for Blues centre-half Tommy Smith are wide of the mark.

Earlier today, The Sun claimed that the Cottagers are to make a £750,000 offer for the 26-year-old New Zealand international.

Smith is contracted to the Blues until June 2017, Town having exercised an option for a further year on the deal he signed in 2013 at the end of last season. Talks regarding a new deal were pencilled in for this summer.

No great loss, one of Boring Billys favourites who have got us where we are today. Nowhere.
The trouble is the Evans Corporation will grab what ever is on offer and we will have to look to the Eastern Counties League for a replacement

how can the club say that this is 'wide of the mark' how do they know what Fulham want or will do in the transfer market? all they can say is they haven't received a bid thats all. The story came from somewhere, likely a Fulham source not an Ipswich one.

The starting back 4 will now be a very interesting dilemma for MM. I'm glad TS is staying. But I don't agree at all with the Berra criticism, he is still a top quality (International) player. IF Emmanuel is truly ready (& I'm not sure MM is convinced), then the only one to ship out would be Chambo imo. Likewise, Kenlock I feel is already a better LB than Knudsen.

Tommy - get the hell out of this place if you get the chance - and progress your career.

Something you have no chance of doing here, under the current regime.
