Town Unveil New Kits
Friday, 6th May 2016 07:48

Town have unveiled their new home, away and goalkeepers' kits for the 2016/17 season with the home strip seeing a return to white sleeves and, as previously reported, a move to blue shorts. The away shirt is white, while there are red and green keepers' jerseys.

Blues skipper Luke Chambers says the squad played a part in choosing the new strips.

“The kits look and feel great, but that’s to be expected from a brand with such high standards as adidas,” he told the club site.

“We’ve all had a say in the design of the new kits and we are all delighted with them. Hopefully the Town fans will be too.

“We were disappointed to miss out on the play-offs this season but it’s made us as hungry as ever for next term and now the kits have been revealed for the upcoming campaign, we all can’t wait to get started again in August.”

In addition to the switch to royal blue shorts, the home kit will feature the more traditional blue socks, while the away shorts and socks are both white with a blue trim. The rarely-worn ‘Barcelona’ kit, currently the second strip, will be next year’s third kit.

The new kits will be available for pre-order online from ITFC Director from Planet Blue from 10am with full details on the club website here.

The home kit will be on general sale from Wednesday 1st June and the away from Wednesday 29th June, although those ordering early will get their kits ahead of those dates.

Well just ordered the home in medium - I suppose it'll encourage me to lose a bit of weight during May.

Swap the home and away shorts around and I think the fans will b a lot happier.

EXcellent home kit. Different to any others and great to see white sleeves back. Wish I could wear one but there is no way I'm walking round with ME's name adorning my ample girth. Might have been more prophetic if chevrons were pointing up instead of down

As a young fan i'm loving the home kit, looks nice and modern...
Away kit seems a bit boring to me.

Love the away top not so keen like others on the home one, I'm sure my family of SAFC will get used to these when I wear them

Away kit with blue shirts would be awesome. Home kit is shockingly bad!!

White away is great. Home shirt is growing on me. From what I understand most of the problems with the "barca" away kit from last season was the short's and sock's clashing, so probably wear the white away short's and sock's with it if necessary.

They are OK but why go for a white away kit? We wear the away kit when we play away from home against teams who wear blue home shirt. Now, what happens if town play team like reading or sheffield Wednesday or Huddersfield?? We can't wear either home or away or even the third kit (which is gonna be the barcelona kit from this season)!!! We will have to again wear the orange kit!!!! Ridiculous!!!!

I like them both but wish we had stuck with white shorts with the home kit. As the away kit has blue in it will we be able to where it against other teams that play in blue at home ? Even the 'Barcelona' shirt has blue in it which is why we couldn't wear it often. I can see the orange kit still being used.

Well London Blue thinks that's because it was done some time ago blue 442;bet not before Bart replaced him in goal though.

Thought McCarthy would at least have allowed Bart to model one of the kits as incumbent Keeper but our know it all Manager seems to have something against Bart, hence not praising him when he won all the accolades but mentioning Dean;and bringing him back in for the last match.

Interesting to see who plays in goal tomorrow.

So how on earth do the real Barca get on with their home kit??

Not disagreeing with peeps on here only with the league - the who clash thing Is complete rubbish. They just didn't like us wearing it! Best away kit we have ever had & it was worn twice!!! Scandalous.

1. blue shorts - no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no.
2. chevron - again, no. doesn't work with the white sleeves. perhaps OK on a solid blue shirt, or a single colour/tone chevron with white sleeves, but not on this design.
3. we couldn't wear the official change kit this season because the blue clashed with the blue of the home team. Given a lot of these teams also play in white (eg Reading, QPR) how we are going use the third kit? Oh, hello orange.
4. away kit acceptable but hardly standout.

Overall, pretty average effort.

It amazes me even when somebody gives an honest opinion on a kit design people vote them down, even making snide comments about essex57. Everybody has opinion on the kits, if you don't agree post your opinion don't vote them up or down it is petty

my 10 year old said - disgusting home kit, dont like away kit
my 4 year old said, no dont like it, white is okay, then changed his mind.
I can accept the white as traditional, but blue does nothing for me.

This is another way fans are mugged off every season replacing the kit both home and away a total rip off !!! £50 a pop I for one refuse to buy a top for this very reason a bloomin scandal and another thing that hacks me off with the modern game and the numptys in charge ... Pure greed no care or thought for the fans as usual

Like the away kit, home kit's ok but would prefer it if we just stuck with 2014/15 kit and not redesign it every season

Chevrons and sashes always look crummy. These over fussy designs belong to Rugby League.

What's wrong with the traditional blue/white/blue for home kit? Away kit ok, but make it white & black with black shorts white socks. As for clashing with other teams, Adidas will be planning on a new fourth kit, probably orange (which wouldn't clash with anyone else!!!) to make supporters part with even more hard earned cash. What's wrong with letting the supporters help to choose the kits again?

Both kits are very nice but i like the away one more though, but if you think about the clubs that play with blue and white as home kit, we won't hardly use the away one so we'll have to use our Barcelona esc alternative kit.
