Howe: No Guarantee Fraser Will Return to Town
Friday, 4th Mar 2016 22:49

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says there’s “no guarantee” that on-loan winger Ryan Fraser will return to the Blues before the end of the season.

The Scotland U21 international, on loan with Town for the season, is currently back at Dean Court as he undergoes his rehab for the hamstring injury he suffered at QPR last month.

“Ryan came back to us for treatment,” Howe told the Bournemouth Echo. “He had a little niggle about a week ago so I wouldn’t say he was close to returning to Ipswich.”

Regarding a time frame for the 22-year-old to go back to the Blues, Howe added: “There is no time frame at the moment. We would hope to get him back there before the end of the season but there is no guarantee.”

Speaking this afternoon, Town boss Mick McCarthy was more positive about the prospect of Fraser rejoining Town.

“I spoke to Ryan Fraser in the week,” he said. “He’d been training, I think he just felt it slightly.

“I think in all honesty the timeline for him, hopefully, will see him maybe getting on the bus for Wolves. It would be brilliant if he could. That would be four weeks’ time.”

Season loan?

Assuming he will be fit by the season's end?

It'd be good to get him back, as he's a super player. I doubt he will be back here next season though, so the bigger question is how we fill that role on a permanent basis. It's a shame that the likes of Henshall, Stewart and Oar didn't work out, but we do need a couple of quality wingers for next season.

Bit of a concern, our best player this season.

Not liking all this coverage on Fraser!

Yes he's a good player, probably the best in our team this season individually, however one player does not make a team. He is not pivotal to our push for the playoffs.

We haven't got him and shouldn't be waiting and hoping on getting him back, personally I'm more concerned on when Cole Skuse is back.

Let's get behind the TEAM tomorrow! COYB!

To be honest, I doubt whether Howe is much bothered whether he comes back or not. Like Green Army, I think we should be concentrating on life after Fraser.

It would be great to have him back,BUT one player doe's not make a team.If he is on a season long loan, then if he is fit by rights he should return though.

All very frustrating to get all this with Fraser, like we did with Williams. They both could have made so much difference if playing regularly. With MMs "style" absolutely essential to quality on both flanks or at least one, with one in the middle.

Atty. They both got injured and worn out too. And AMN albeit more exhaustion. I doubt Howe is in a hurry to send Fraser back and who could blame him?

In view of this still seems reluctant to go into loan market before it finally closes, why?
