Ex-Arsenal Youngster Linked
Wednesday, 27th Jan 2016 16:17

Town, Bristol City and Wigan are reported to be showing interest in bringing former Arsenal youngster Chuks Aneke back to England from Belgian side Zulte Waregem.

According to the Mirror, Waregem are in financial trouble and looking to offload their saleable assets, including the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who has previously had loan spells with Stevenage, Preston and, pictured above, Crewe. He joined Waregem in the summer of 2014 following his release by Arsenal.

The ex-England U16, U17, U18 and U19 international would appear to be an unlikely Town target, particularly given that the Belgian club are said to be keen to raise “significant funds” from his sale.

Wayway I agree with you.
I can think of no other reason why our club has not progressed.
I can remember a few years back when Evans took over and I was guilty of laughing at Norwich and at the same time thinking of what we could now achieve. How wrong I was.
Norwich weathered their storm, took a gamble, didn't give a flying one about potential fair play fall out and now look at it!
We are treading water yet again buying has beens or never beens and they end up with the likes of Neasmith!
I can only think that Mick is ok with this because he is on his final pre-retirement asignment.

The naysayers of Evans probably think the sky is going to fall on our heads too....blissful ignorance is not an excuse for stupidity....

I believe it was me wayway who suggested the moaning Minnie's such as yourself club together to buy the club. Hey if you had a quid for the negative drivel you come out with you 'd be millionaires. I won't lower myself to personal name calling as I'm not a child.

I'm no accountant or tax specialist but it is a well known fact that big business can write of tax against loss making enterprises and advertising and lets face it ITFC is one big ME advert. Look around the ground, look at the players shirts. There has to be a reason that he hasn't put money up to push harder for promotion and if it's not to write off tax then it has to be him taking "football" advice from McCarthy in which case we are all in trouble!

Can I clear something up ! Marcus Evans WOULD give MM money for he asked for it ..... Fact , kick likes to do it with nothin. This releases pressure and strain that comes from spending an owners money ! He is a proud man who likes it his way and at the mo that means doing it for free ! We improve every year and will continue to ! And as for the plonker who said ainsley hasent lived up to promise !!!!! You brain dead pal ???? So mature on the ball, I'm a gambling man and I bet you any money up to 20 grand (most I can afford at the moment) that he ends up with England caps

By the way, seen him play a few times, the lad has talent, but isn't a MM type player

Unlikely given the fact that he may cost a fee. Much more likely that we will get a couple of players in on free transfers and/or already out of contract.

Eddie Nolan, Marvin McCoy and Anthony Straker have been released by York City. I know we've had scouts there but its unlikely its for any of them. Sadly it was probably for Ben Godfrey who ended up signing for Norwich.

Cloddyseedbed, videos of highlights are a terrible way to get an idea of what a player will be like, because they're exactly that - highlights! They don't show negative points

Going back say 4yrs.when we played Leicester on that very Snow driven night in Dec. when we beat them 3-0
The point I am making is look where Leicester are now !!! and look where are we now !!!
Still in the damn championship !!!!!
I know the Dark Lord was here for the rest of that season unfortunately

At least the next game there will be a change in the team with no Gerken and Douglas, two of MMs favourites ????

More excited by this than the potential Jerome Thomas deal. Thomas has been free for some time now and apart from the Hearts and Yeovil trials he's barely played any football. Clubs aren't exactly snapping at his heels trying to sign him up. A few years back he was great. But that's a few years back. Time does have a habit of catching up with players.

I'm kind of fed up of ITFC being linked with released players from Kidderminster and co or alternatively players who have stopped playing football while our rivals are getting in the likes of Tomlin, Sidwell etc. Reinforcements in any campaign are vital. We seem to be shedding players rather than bringing them in. Digby and Coke look like they need replacing already. Sorry but I can't see a top 6 place unless we get our act together. Some of our squad are nowhere near Championship standard.

The highlight of this season could be watching Norwich come back down. Come on Swansea and Newcastle!

Whilst we know 'funds are tight' and 'we pay good wages' - We have lost Dids , Bishop , Oar and Parr ( Injury and sold) and got in a kid from Barnsley 2nd team , and an old wolf

Agree Tomlin would have been great , Moncur would be good - he ex Arsenal lad looks ok but Jerome Thomas ( 240 games in 14 years !) no thank you
As I said all money gone on MM and TC new extended contract !!

Bit of a non-story really, next!! MM doesn't want money if he gets it and fails he looks bad, he'll just plod along with frees and people who have almost given up on football then read Ipswich are barrel scrappers and make a phone call for a trial!! It's comical really , all those "mind the gap" fans look a bit silly now don't they!! As a town fan for almost 40 years now I'm sick to back to teeth of it!

We need players that have the appetite to want to improve, not old pros that have had their day. Look in league 1 they'll have players in there looking for that opportunity to step up, but just need that chance. Oh ME and MM, wherever the problem may lay, this will mean that the club will have to put its hand in its pocket and pay a decent fee for QUALITY! Promotion looks a long and distant dream at the moment, we look no nearer in getting to the promised land. So frustrating, can't honestly think of a team from the championship that has gone up on the cheap or through free transfers and has a lack of quality to actually pass the ball on the GROUND and retain possession.

Third time lucky? Jet was hopeless, the current one will never make a premiership player so let's try this guy.
