Palace Striker Linked
Monday, 18th Jan 2016 10:47

Town are reported to be amongst a number of Championship clubs eyeing Crystal Palace striker Fraizer Campbell.

According to the Daily Mirror, Campbell has been made available this month with the Blues, Hull City, QPR and Wolves all interested in signing the 28-year-old former Cardiff, Sunderland and Manchester United frontman, who has also spent time on loan with the Tigers and Tottenham.

Town making a move for Campbell seems unlikely with boss Mick McCarthy having said he is happy with his striking options with Luke Varney having recently signed a deal to the end of the season after recovering from his achilles injury.

Meanwhile former Blues loanee Jordan Graham is facing a long spell on the sidelines after tearing a cruciate ligament. The 20-year-old has been in impressive form for Wolves, having joined them from Aston Villa a year ago.

Nice to be linked with strikers of this calibre but they need to be this good to get in our team which itself says how much our squad has improved

If its doable then why not? Much better player than Varney and likely to the push the other strikers too.

Our usual line is we won't recruit unless it's a better option than what we've already got...

Very interesting. Given Didzy's plight, it may be just about conceivable, but we should take this with a pinch of salt as always.

...shame it want Connor !!.... Our current front men are good enough for a mid to top table championship club ....if we want to make that last leap....a front man and a few more ....but yada yada yada...how many more times does it need to be said COYbB (come on you baby blues... For tomorrow night,)

if he's got good work rate, can jump a lot, has good stamina and is willing to compete with aerial balls for 92 minutes then he could be our man.

If we did sign him, it would suggest that Mcgoldrick is going to be out for longer than we expect.

Personally, I would love this, I'm not going to lie! He knows where the goal is, still a fair age, quick, not bad in the air and good at championship level.

Can I see it happening, can I **ck!

Someones on there way out (mcgoldrick loan/permanent)

Would be great news. If McGoldrick is out for a while and as Sears is being utilised as a winger, then for me we need another option. Varney is a great guy, and I'm glad he is over his injury, but he's 34, not known for his goals, so is unlikely to fire us to promotion. We need a quality addition. However, I still think we need to add a goal scoring creative central midfielder to the team. Something clearly lacking again on Saturday. That player will cost money though.

not bad - need a Creative Mid as said and Moncur fits the bill for me

Non-starter, boys and girls. Won't happen. Let's hope it's a smokescreen for something else, though.

Not played alot of football lately - I assume he is on a pretty good wage at Palace - not sure we could compete with Hull and Wolves have just had some money come in
Think a midfielder is needed more
