Crowe Set for Braintree Loan
Sunday, 10th Jan 2016 14:53

Blues keeper Michael Crowe is set to join Vanarama National League side Braintree Town on a month's loan having come to the end of his stint with League Two Stevenage without playing a game.

The 20-year-old’s month at Broadhall Way is up today and the Wales U21 call-up was unable to break into the first team.

London-born, Norway-raised Crowe previously spent time on loan at Woking last season and has been on the Town first-team bench on a number of occasions but without making his Blues debut. He is contracted until the end of the season.

Crowe was again an unused sub as Boro lost 2-1 at Mansfield Town yesterday.

Elsewhere, Josh Yorwerth missed Crawley's 1-0 home victory over Cambridge United having suffered a hamstring injury in last week's defeat to Portsmouth.

No, lowerstoft fans are just Budgie fans who can't get to the games!

What on earth is the point of sending our young players out on loan to get experience if they don't play any games.

It just squandering their formative years; sheer lunacy.

@Bluetone, not Mick's fault or anyone else on Town's side of the deal if Stevenage decide not to play the players they sign on loan. That's exactly why he's now being sent to a lower level, isn't it? To try and guarantee him some playing time?

Not a great move surely? How on earth will this benefit him? Not great standard. Can see him moving on.

Disappointing we can't get him on loan at a higher club, but perhaps he isn't living up to his initial potential.

@promotionwhatever that's the point if you as Manager agree to a loan you set the parameters unless, of course, the sole objective is just to appear to be doing something. It certainly didn't help Crowe.

I think it's obvious he will be released in the summer. I worked that out when we signed paddy Kenny last season. Not good enough unfortunately.

BlueandTruesince82 as Carsey has already mentioned a lot of Lowestoft fans are Ipswich fans, in fact I would say there is an approximate 50/50 split in the Town itself.

As a Lowestoft born and bred chap myself one of the gripes I have always had is that Lowestoft folk tend to be considered to favour the Budgies based on our geographical position. Sadly I also believe that this has a bearing of us being left out on a limb in the county and certainly forgotten about by the headquarters of the county (Ipswich) who seem to put more focus on the likes of Bury St Edmunds.

Moan over from North East Suffolk!

I've seen Braintree once this season and they look like a steady unit. Loads of overlapping wingback play and tend to get a lot of crosses into the box both from wingers, midfielders and wingbacks. They also tend to defend high (in the game I saw anyway) so Crowe will need to be really quick off his line and make sound decisions. Chez Isaac is better than our back up midfielder for ITFC first team. He's able to tackle and run box-to-box.
