Dyer to Give I'm a Celebrity Fee to Ipswich Charity
Tuesday, 10th Nov 2015 16:41

Former Town midfielder Kieron Dyer will donate his entire fee from his appearance in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here to Ipswich-based charity The Jude Brady Foundation.

The Foundation, of which Dyer is a patron, aims to raise awareness of stillbirth and neonatal death as well as funds for child-related good causes. They recently staged the pro-celebrity match at Bury Town’s Ram Meadow, which raised almost £7,000.

Speaking on the ITV show’s website, Dyer said his family are big fans: “I’m A Celebrity… is a favourite in our house. I watch it with my children and they wanted me to do it. They begged me to go on!”

The 36-year-old former England international, a long-term sponsor of Town's academy, is sure he’ll keep everyone entertained: “I like to stir things up and I am a mickey-taker. I will amuse myself and have a banter with everyone.”

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here starts on ITV on Sunday 15th November.

What a man, all fees donated to charity and people said he did it for money, he did but for a greater cause

Really nice gesture.
I've only heard of 3 of the others - lets hope he does well and comes out of this grub eating nonsense with some honour

Say what you like about the man but he's pure Ipswich. Sponsored the Academy for years, always got to games if he could even when he was at Newcastle, always rook an interest in the youngsters and sponsored them for some time.

All that in spite of basically being told to f##k off at the training ground by Roy Keane.

Top bloke, great gesture. I'd really love KD to become a manigerial genius.

Great gesture. Personally think the programme is s##t, but will have to have a sneaky look as there is a true blue in it.

Top land and true blue, I can't bring myself to watch it though... at least he's on there for a good cause rather than boosting his own ego, career or bank balance like most of them. Best of luck :)

Good luck to Kieron. Don't watch the show but giving his fee to a very worthy charity makes me think I might just watch a bit. Check out the Jude Brady Foundation site especially if this has affected you.

Well done for donating to a local charity, as someone who lost a child in infancy many years ago this will certainly help ! Haven't had the fortune of watching the show but enjoy. Oh, and remembered i was in the same year as his father at Tower Ramparts School, those were the days!!

Good for him. Raising money for charity is unlike a lot of the 'celebrities' who go on the show for the money and a last pay day. Most I have never heard of anyway.

Gives me a reason to watch it. I would guess he won't worry about doing all the challenges unlike Jimmy Bullard!

We are fortunate to have so many ex players who still have their hearts in Ipswich Town and are frequently seen at Playford Road. Well done Keiron would love you to win it.
