Ford and McLoughlin Also With Squad
Friday, 21st Aug 2015 16:57

Strikers Sam Ford (above) and Shane McLoughlin are also amongst the youngsters to have joined the Blues party which flew to Preston today ahead of tomorrow’s game at Deepdale.

The duo, along with George Fowler and James Blanchfield, have made the trip to gain experience but are not in the Blues squad for the match against the Lilywhites.

Former Felixstowe Academy pupil Ford, 17, is a second-year scholar, while McLoughlin, 18, is a Republic of Ireland U18 international in his third year with the Blues youth set-up.

Loving this. Give the youngsters a taste of what it is to be around the first team squad. Then let them play their socks off to get into the squad. Great man management by MM / TC

I'm going for 0-1, our win. They've shown they can defend well against boro, but without beckford lack a cutting edge

It's all about the togetherness and the spirit that is spreading through the squad Mick is making every man and boy feel involved which is great management and bodes well for the future when we are slugging it out with the big boys!! C.O.Y.B.

This is good. It hardly matters what your profession or trade is, if you are young then you learn by watching others do the job. If the lads have brains then they will watch and listen carefully to everything that the first teamers do. Full credit to management for giving them the chance.

I assume they chartered a flight so may as well fill the empty seats with youngsters after experience.

Happy to hear we are supporting our youngsters. Other youngsters from other clubs will see that there is a clear line of progression at ITFC.

Don't understand why McDonnell is not with the squad. Excellent reviews from the training ground and we've been waiting for his clearance to play for ages.

Great season so far. Think this will be a hard fought 1-0 win.
