McGoldrick Signs New Deal
Thursday, 20th Aug 2015 17:19

Striker David McGoldrick has extended his Town contract until the summer of 2018.

“Obviously I’m delighted to have signed the contract and I’m looking forward to being part of the future here,” McGoldrick told the club site.

“There is a real buzz about the place at the moment and it’s great to be part of it. We have got a great set of players here and we are going in the right direction.

“The squad is the best I have known in my time here, with the options we have now. We have got real competition for places all over the pitch. The Premier League where we all want to be and that’s the aim for us this season.”

McGoldrick, 27, joined the Blues initially on loan from Nottingham Forest in January 2013, before signing on a permanent basis the following summer following his release from the City Ground.

Last season the Blues triggered an option on his previous deal, which took the Ireland international to the end of the current season, with discussions regarding his new contract having been ongoing over the summer.

There is such a feel good factor around the club and on forums, for me this is no doubt the best team since the days of Holland and Stewart. We are on the up and bums on seats will follow, the louder we sing and shout the more response we will get from the players ,Didzy is such a important player for us ,he will come good this season ,the jigsaw ia nigh on complete, Well done ME and MM ,also Terry.

Fantastic news. Can score goals and, with his Bergkamp-like first touch, create game-changing opportunities. I look forward to seeing him fully fit and banging them in!

He's the best player in this league when he applies himself...

And judging by Tuesday's performance - he looks hungry!

slightly off topic but on the MM revolution I understand why some were negative and fed up with the style of football played over the last season or so but surely they can now see that his squad was a work in progress and it has taken time to get to the team he wanted/needed to play the right kind of football.
I am sure we will still play long and direct at times but have the players now to mix things up.
I for one am really excited how things are going! COYB!

I think MM just wanted a couple of games to make sure he was back to full fitness before offering him a deal----quite right too.

The answer is that Dids from what I have seen is playing even better IF he stays fully fit no doubt we will go straight up.

See you all at PNE tomorrow!
