U18s Lose to Charlton
Monday, 16th Feb 2015 11:57

Town’s U18s lost 2-1 at home to Charlton Athletic on Saturday morning with Cemal Ramadan (pictured) on target for the young Blues.

Elsewhere, Elliott Hewitt was back in the Colchester side following his recent suspension as the U’s won 1-0 away at Oldham.

The Wales U21 international played the first 89 minutes, while Jack Marriott came on as a sub on 83.

Anthony Wordsworth was in the Crawley team which thrashed Barnsley 5-1 at home, the midfielder playing the first 77 minutes.

First-year pro Omar Sowunmi’s second month on loan with Vanarama North side Lowestoft began with a 2-1 defeat at Oxford City.

Meanwhile, Portman Road won't be hosting any of the Suffolk FA's county cup finals this season as it would be difficult to schedule them around the play-offs if Town are involved and post-season work on the pitch and stadium which would be required should the Blues win promotion.

U18s: Hayes, Emmanuel, Walton Owen, Smith, Fowler, Cole, Jones, Blanchfield, Ramadan, McLoughlin, Ford. Subs: Daly, Ellis, Downes, Morris, Woolfenden.
