Derry: Right Move For All Concerned
Wednesday, 16th Jul 2014 09:19

Notts County manager Shaun Derry believes Bartosz Bialkowski’s switch to the Blues was the right move for all parties. The 27-year-old Pole joined the Blues on a two-year deal with an option for a further season yesterday for an undisclosed fee.

“Bart will say he thoroughly enjoyed his time at Notts and I enjoyed working with him," Derry told the Nottingham Post.

"But we have to look at the bigger picture. We have to look and say was it right for all parties and I think it was.

"Bart wanted to play in the Championship and he saw an opportunity he wanted to take. We need to look at other options and that's perhaps what we can do with the money that Bart's departure brings.

"I know there will be a disappointment around losing such a good goalkeeper but I feel I can bring a good one in as well."

Bialkowski is likely to be involved at some stage during tonight's friendly against West Ham at Portman Road (KO 7.45pm).

Meanwhile, former Blue Tommy Miller, 35, is on trial back at his old club Hartlepool, having been released by Bury at the end of last season.

I think he will prove to be a good buy in the end but after all this talk about Town standing firm and a free they paid up in the end.

I'm not sure it was ever confirmed that he was available on a free.
