Return to Adidas Temporary Monday, 5th Aug 2013 10:41 There was an echo of Town in the 1970s and 80s after Saturday’s game with the Blues squad and staff spotted wearing Adidas benchwear rather than their usual Mitre kit. Club spokesman Steve Pearce told TWTD that the switch to the manufacturer of the kit Sir Bobby Robson’s FA and UEFA Cup-winning sides wore is a temporary measure while Town await the delivery of some of this season’s new benchwear: “Unfortunately due to a delay with one of their suppliers, Mitre have been unable to deliver some of the training kit for the players and coaching staff for the new season. “Mitre have sourced alternative benchwear for the first team on a temporary basis before the staff and players return to wearing Mitre kit when the final delivery is received in the next few weeks.” Mitre’s contract with the Blues is up at the end of the season and we understand discussions have already taken place with potential new suppliers including Nike.
