Carson Set for Trial as Lee Joins in Training Saturday, 27th Jul 2013 17:52 Boss Mick McCarthy has revealed that midfielder Josh Carson is set for a trial at an unnamed club this week. The Blues manager also confirmed that former striker Alan Lee has trained with his first team and that he is assessing the 34-year-old, who was released by Huddersfield at the end of last season and has been coaching with the Town academy. Carson was absent from the 22 at Notts County and McCarthy explained why: “He’s going somewhere else to have a trial next week. I’m sure you’ll all be sniffing about to find out where but I’m not going to tell you, so if you do, good luck to you.” Ex-striker Lee has started working with the academy this summer, but more recently, as TWTD revealed yesterday, has been training with the first team squad. “He’s doing his coaching badges, I’ve told him he can come and take them. We’ll just see, see if he’s fit, I’ll have a look.” Whether the Irishman will be registered for the season ahead, the Blues boss said no decision has so far been made: “That’s not been planned [up to ] now. He’s doing his coaching badges, he’s loving it training. Let’s see.”
