McCarthy Confirms Brown Signing
Saturday, 23rd Feb 2013 17:45

Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Manchester United defender Reece Brown is joining the Blues on loan, as TWTD reported last night.

McCarthy said: “Yes, we’ve taken him on loan and he joins us on Monday.”

The 21-year-old central defender, full-back or holding midfielder becomes the sixth domestic loanee at the club with only five permitted in a matchday squad.

Oh well, another option. I am just surprised he wants to come here to (presumably) sit on the bench.

Pointless, our defence is starting to look solid, so we bring in another centre back... and on loan! What we really need is new wingers who can actually provide goals for our strikers!

Welcome to the club anyway Reece!

Sorry Mick - but don't see the point. We need creativity, not more defenders or a holding midfielder - both Hyam and N'Daw are exactly that!

Another defender - WHY?????

Marcus added 17:58 - Feb 23
Why? Because Tommy will miss a few games due to international commitments and we're short of cover.

Has MM offered any explanation as to why he has taken the lad on loan as it doesn't make sense!!

What is in it for Brown? Typical that other teams get good lads in like Boyd, Kane, Robinson and we get this guy...

Welcome to IITFC. Mick why did you release Jason Scotland - What a difference his 5 goals would have made to us now, averaged out on this basis for the rest of the season he could have been our top scorer. Hope his goals for Barnsley despite their loss at Bristol today don't haunt us on May 4th......

Very Very boring signing.

Cover while Smith is playing for NZ I hope.

Defence is fine as is.

Can play DM, has a goal in him I would say will be brought in to replace Hyam or ndaw and maybe view to a permanent signing.

Fantastic, just what we need...another defensive midfielder and another loanee!!
Can't wait to pay £30 to watch another inept, shot shy performance full of players that won't be here next season.
Think I will save my money for Sky and the Champions League.
I have watched enough of this for one season

Got a feeling this is a longer term idea, with him being out of contract in the summer, so a glorified trial

let see the guy play first instead of moaning before he's kicked a ball.

Re posts about Smith, he won't miss any games, they're in an international week.

To be fair to MM, we might have a pretty good defence at the mo, but the position we are in, if one of them gets injured we will be going down... So I just don't get all the whys on here. And hang on a minute, whose credit is it that we do have a good defence?
