Redknapp Delighted to See Campbell Return
Tuesday, 1st Jan 2013 12:12

QPR boss Harry Redknapp says he’ll be delighted to have striker DJ Campbell back in his squad when he returns to Loftus Road after three highly successful months on loan with the Blues tomorrow. The 31-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 16 games while with Town, will play his final game against Brighton today with manager Mick McCarthy keen to sign him on a permanent basis if Redknapp is willing to let him go.

Redknapp, whose scouts have regularly watched the striker whose contract us up at the end of the season during his spell at Portman Road, said: “I haven’t seen anything of DJ Campbell recently. He did well while he was at Blackpool under Ian Holloway.

“Certainly lots of clubs in the Championship like him and I’ve had lots of phone calls from different managers in the Championship who would love to have him in their team. They tell me he’s a great lad as well so I’m pleased to have him back.”

Former Blackpool boss Holloway was recently reported to want to take Campbell to his current club Crystal Palace, while Bolton have also been linked. However, Campbell has enjoyed his time with the Blues and we understand is keen to join the club on a permanent basis.

Redknapp is also recalling another striker to his struggling Premier League squad, Jay Bothroyd is set to return to West London after a spell with Sheffield Wednesday.

Good ol 'Arry , talking up the players valuation and trying to create an auction for a player he has no intention of keeping/ using long term.

We are in the driving seat with DJ as long as we meet QPR valuation and DJ's wage demands. If QPR say £2 million and DJ says 3 years 20k the club should say no problem as DJ is one of these players who can get Mr Evans dream and a wind fall of £80 million

The trouble with DJ and this is my honest problem with the guy, is that the guy is clearly disloyal and he is a LOAN!!! He is here taking the opertunitys away from our permanent signings and therefore damaging moral. For example poor andy drury is left out today but DJ give the nod. Drury will never get his chance while DJ is here. And so you have to ask yourselves who would u rather play upfront today? DJ or Darren bent?

@mrivancampo you really are an idiot DJ is a striker Drury is midfield so explain to me how DJ is keeping Drury out? Also before throwing a pissy fit the word is Drury is ill which is why he isn't playing otherwise he'd have probably started or at least been on the bench. You really need to learn something about football before you open your mouth and show the world what a tw@t you are.

Hello everyone, new poster alert!. Been reading TWTD for a while and have seen the name of the infamous mrivancampo rear his head here, For those that don't know he was a regular wum on the old bbc 606 and should not be taken seriously in the slightest. Thought it was my job to sign up and call him out before he causes too much trouble.
