N'Daw Would Welcome Longer Stay
Wednesday, 21st Nov 2012 12:37

Season-long loanee Guirane N’Daw says he’d be interested in joining the Blues on a full-time basis if the opportunity were to present itself. The midfielder’s St Etienne contract is up at the end of the campaign.

Speaking in an interview with Ipswich Player, in which new team-mate Kelly Youga translated, the 28-year-old said: “I used to watch English football on the TV when I was younger and it was always my ambition to come over here and play.

“It was an easy decision to come here to Ipswich when the opportunity came up. I want to play my football here. I think I have the physical abilities to do well in English football.

“I am at Ipswich for the season and my first importance is to fight for the club, fight to get Ipswich up the table.

“I want to take it step by step but yes, why not? If a chance came along to get a long-term contract here I would be happy. We will see.”

Having dropped out of the picture during the latter days of Paul Jewell’s management, N’Daw has become a regular since Mick McCarthy took over as boss.

Well he has been one of the better of a poor lot imo. Lets see how it goes. Earn a contract with some powerful performances.

Yes, I'd be happy with that.

And there's a difference between not being able to speak a functional amount of English and not being fluent enough to conduct an interview!

The sort of line that you would expect from a player who's contract at his parent club is coming to an end, but in fairness he has looked good this season, gives us some real steel and strength in the middle of the park which we haven't had much of in recent years, I'd just like to see him play alongside Hyam or Drury and given a bit more freedom as when he drives with the ball the opposition would absolute cack themselves

Well said Guthrum and if he is fluent on the field then that is all that matters for now!

Yes please! Haven't seen him play in the flesh, but from all accounts he's got something about him.

btw ipswichlegend, what languages do you speak?

Oh, only English...

How many British professional footballers speak another language fluently, I wonder ? Probably a very small percentage.

NDaw will not want to 'appear stupid" in an offcial club video interview. Makes sense for him to be interpreted by a colleague. Guthrum, u r spot on with your observation.

Town players found guilty of violent assault or GBH should be transfer listed immediately because they besmirch the name of those who went before them.

Now the Kelly Youga transfer deal makes sense :-)

maybe whenever one of players goes on the 'lash' they need to take the big lad with them, i dont think anyone would come near them :-) I have seen him live and the guy a massive presence and seems to have far more passion than many of them put togehter. A wholehearted no nonsense defensive midfielder the likes of which we have been crying out for a long time. Not only that for a big lad he tackles really well (i was going to say his tackles are good but thats probably another story :-)

My favourite current Town player by a country mile - I don't think there are many others in the squad who would be in danger of getting subbed at half-time for being TOO competitive at the moment...

BerlinBlue- you are a complete tool, he didnt even understand questions from the interviewer so whats the use having him trying to understand the staff. Lost cause im afraid and will not be here next season

ipswichlegend--he played alot of games at birmingham and chris houghton told jewell he was a decent player. He left them possibly because they couldnt afford him. As he played plenty of games they must have got round the language issue. Im sure a few of the boys in chelsea squad dont speak perfect english.
