Loach a Doubt for Leicester Trip
Thursday, 15th Nov 2012 16:54

Keeper Scott Loach is a doubt ahead of Saturday’s trip to Leicester due to the thigh injury he suffered in the Suffolk Premier Cup tie at Walsham-le-Willows on Tuesday evening. The former Watford man was replaced by young Norwegian keeper Michael Crowe close to the end of the reserves’ 5-1 victory at Summer Road.

The 24-year-old, who has been on the bench for the first team since Stephen Henderson joined on loan from West Ham, is suffering with a dead leg and will be assessed before the squad is confirmed for the game at the King Power Stadium.

Town will be without midfielder Richie Wellens, whose loan from the Foxes was up after last week’s 2-1 victory over Burnley, while Lee Martin will be back after his one-match ban having reached five bookings.

Meanwhile, academy second-year scholar Jonny Leddy is in action for Ireland's U18s in a friendly in Switzerland this afternoon with a stream available here (KO 5pm). The Swiss won the first of the two friendlies 1-0 on Tuesday.

Frankyl I am generally unsure about him so no great lose. Henderson also has his moments and I don't like theidea ofa loanee keeper. Should we just admit that in the current circumstances we are not going to get a better keeper than ALB who is at least committed to the club?

Did he injure himself on Twitter or was it playing Fifa on his xbox?

ALB is dreadful. If you honestly would rather him in goal just because he is commited then throw me upfront! Probably useless but im commited! What aload of rubbish.

A disappointing signing. I disagree with others who say he has only had one bad game ... yes Cardiff he was poor, but also thought he was suspect at Blackpool and penalty save aside against Huddersfield, have been unimpressed with his general control of the penalty area in majority of home games. Not a vast improvement on ALB (who I agree is poor) and was basically not good enough for Watford. This is only my opinion though!!

MM will I suspect look to bring in a new permanent keeper in January.

Get him along as a cheerleader anyway... a true blue! Cautiously optimistic about the Leicester game COYB!!

Living in Scotland I cannot believe that idiot Jewell did not sign Marian Kello - far better than both Loach and Henderson

Better than Henderson on his day, people get on his back from his form under JEWELL! New manager, defence looks a little better. Get him back in goal ASAP

I think you lot bad mouthing Scott Loach are a disgrace. He is one of ours, he wants to be here to stay and he is certainly no worse than Henderson who is frankly rubbish. No vision, poor kicking, slow distribution. What the hell West Ham see in him is beyond me.

Loach is town through and through, look at the season joe hart is having and would you say no if we had the chance of signing him??? Give him a chance he could be a town legend in time

Loach may be Town through and through so am I but it doesnt mean that Ive got a divine right to the keepers jersey at Portman Rd,I havent the ability and clearly he hasnt either. He has been pathetic since he came here and was useless at Watford,Mc Carthy will move him on and get in a solid keeper on a permanent basis

jason0999 - very rarely do you come across a perfect Goalkeeper (if ever) - the bit / bits that are missing in terms of faults / discrepancies are exactly what Goalkeeping Coaches are for - what else ??

The faults or shortfalls in both ALB and SL are not insurmountable problems and CAN, and should be, coached out of them.
Players need good Coaches - Goalkeepers are no exception.

As much as I would prefer not to have to say this - but, what are the Clubs relevant people doing in this direction ??

This could well be another point McCarthy will pick up on in due course.

Interesting times.

Jas that post is spot on and wonder if we could even get a decent keeper if we pooled the strengths of the 3 of them. Loach gets the sympathy vote but for me we need another first choice goalkeeper and an sure MM will sort it once Henderson has gone back.

how can people slate Scott Loach, we have always wanted a player who shows pride in wearing the shirt and when we have one.. he gets slated?

He's a good goalkeeper at this level and still don't understand why we needed to bring Henderson in on loan?! He is a good upcoming keeper but was not needed at our club

I think McCarthy will sign a decent keeper in the tranfer market and defenders and midfielders and forwards.
He will have a huge clearout and bring in his own team.
Loach will most likely be number two keeper and some of the players could stay.
But there will be a lot of comings but a lot more goings.
But can you all see we need to get out of the bottom of the league and the players we have cant do that for us because they are not good enough.
The only players Mick can sign are loan players or free agents and they have got to be better than we already have.
Things will change in january so in the mean time let Mick do his job and clear up the mess that Jewell left behind.

I feel sorry for loach because he made two mistakes in one game and he was dropped.
Has any body noticed the mistakes that Hart has made this season both for Man city and England last night but will play on saturday as usual and he will be in the next England team.
Give Loach a break give him another chance to prove himself because no body is perfect not even the number one keeper in the world.
