Chopra Hearing Date Set

The hearing into the race-fixing charges faced by striker Michael Chopra has been set for January 14th next year.

Chopra and the other eight individuals charged will be invited to give evidence during that hearing, which will be held at the British Horseracing Authority’s headquarters at High Holborn in London and could last for up to 11 days.

Amongst the nine charged by the BHA on October 4th were Chopra’s agent Yogesh Joshee, his former Newcastle team-mate James Coppinger, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Doncaster, one-time Rovers midfielder Mark Wilson and jockey Andrew Heffernan.
