Higginbotham Hoping to Repeat Success of Forest Spell Saturday, 29th Sep 2012 06:03 Danny Higginbotham is hoping his loan stint at Ipswich will be as successful as a similar spell with Nottingham Forest during the second half of last season. He played six games for the East Midlands club, scoring once and only finishing on the losing side on one occasion as the former European champions looked in danger of slipping into League One. Higginbotham recalled: “I went to Forest — Luke Chambers was there at the time — and I think I’d been there a week when the owner passed away. The club was in all types of turmoil and several points adrift of safety. “It was just a case of getting that one result that would turn things round. I don’t believe the position that Ipswich are in is anything like as bad as that. This is still the start of the season and a couple of results can turn it round. “In terms of quality, the squads are very similar and if we can get things going I don’t see any reason why this team can’t shoot up the league.” Town, who face Barnsley and Brighton away in the space of the next few days before a home clash with Cardiff next Saturday, urgently need to start accumulating points if they are to climb the table. Higginbotham added: “You do need a little bit of luck along the way and you need to start believing in yourselves. The manager has given the lads confidence and that’s what it’s all about. “We’re all in this together and if we do the right things I believe in football that things will turn round in your favour. I think we can get the one positive result we need sooner rather than later and then in a few months we will look back at this blip and remember it as a trying time, a testing time, but also that it made us stronger as a unit.”
