Chopra Set for Scan
Thursday, 20th Sep 2012 10:42

Striker Michael Chopra has revealed that he will undergo a scan later today on the thigh injury he suffered during last night’s 2-0 defeat to Wolves.

Chopra tweeted: “Lots of ice and acupuncture today and a scan later. [Will] see what the outcome is.”

The Blues could go into Saturday’s home game against Charlton with their striking options limited with Paul Taylor also set for a scan today having left the ground on crutches last night due to the ankle knock which forced him off just after half-time.

So that's Taylor and Chopra possibly out for saturday, what amazing plan does Jewell have under his sleeve?

Murphy and Martin up front, Carson and JET on the flanks. Town actually win.

Could be a good thing

Funny how players tend to get injured when they lack confidence or are not doing well .Evans and Cleggs lack of support for Jewell is becoming more evident , i fear we are in a right mess and downward spiral .Whatever next ?

We have no shortage of players who can play up front. It's the other 9 players that lack cover/played out of position.

We have options up front, just nobody that can score.

Do scans reveal the reason for shocking lack of form? if so, can the whole team / management / board have one?

Maybe we can use Tommy Smith up front since he is the only player with the knack for scoring goals right now.

In my opinion Chopra not a great miss as he has missed many chances this season and would much rather Scotland or Murphy played up top. With Murphy or Scotland down the middle you never know, we may be better with JET and Carson on the flanks and Martin playing in the hole.
Loach (as we have on one else)
Edwards Chambers Smith (as we have no one else) Cresswell
Luongo NDaw or Hyam
JET Carson
Martin
Scotland or Murphy

Maybe they can scan his eyesight too for signs of failing to see two goalposts and a crossbar!

The system will change and that will be great . Playing chopra in a role as lone striker , in the hope of others supporting him is why we are vulnerable as a team , why space appears between our midfield and defence for teams to pick us off. Chopra is a feed player ie he needs to be close to the 18 yard box picking up bits etc. This is the problem ,and as its PJs preferred style of tactic is why he cant put his finger on the issue. We are vulnerabe due to attack minded players being drawn to chopra and the ball in the hope of supporting him . How many one balls forward do we conceed from. The answeras to change PJ are in this post.

How will he score his promised 25 goals if he can't look after himself? I thought he was super fit after his summer trip?

And we were worried about not having any cover in defence

These injuries may be a blessing in disguise..will give us a chance to try something different up front vs Charlton...maybe Scotland & JET?

Watching on from last night performance we need a striker to partner chopra/taylor with a bit of strength up there. Wickham is what we need! He will be hungry as sitting on the bench does nothing for confidence!! Agreed its not looking good at the mo, especially missing those chances last night some don't know how, Murphy on the rebound 6 yards out, putting it wide, and then the own goal summed it up!!! But Wolves didn't roll us over, we competed well last night, just silly errors and no killer instinct!! Surely last night shows we need to sign three players to give more competition to players as when we went a goal down, they didn't seem to be bothered to force the game onto there opponents and get an equalizer?
