Saturday, 3rd Mar 2012 14:42

Town boss Paul Jewell has made two changes for today’s home game against Bristol City. Keeper Alex McCarthy and midfielder Grant Leadbitter return to the team with Arran Lee-Barrett and Luke Hyam dropping out.

Despite Leadbitter’s return Carlos Edwards is again named as the captain. The suspended Jimmy Bullard is not amongst the subs with Ryan Stevenson included in the 16 for the first time with Lee Bowyer also on the bench. Hyam drops out of the squad completely.

For Bristol City, central defender Lewin Nyatanga is back after an ankle problem and midfielder Kalifa Cisse returns from a groin injury. Right-back Jordan Spence and strike Chris Wood drop out. Full match preview here.

Town: McCarthy, Edwards, Smith, Delaney, Cresswell, Drury, Leadbitter, Emmanuel-Thomas, Martin, Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Bowyer, Scotland, Stevenson, Sonko.

Bristol City: James, Carey, Nyatanga, Fontaine, Foster; Davis, Cisse, Pearson; Adomah, Stead, Kilkenny. Subs: Gerken, McAllister, Bolasie, Pitman, Wood.

Really disappointed about hyam. Radio saying he may be sick, hope this is the case, otherwise think its a bad move. Would have put Stevenson in rather than leadbitter too.

Fair enough if Hyam is ill..if not then this really is a poor choice by PJ..would've much prefered to see Stevenson get his chance ahead of "useless".

Slightly unfair on ALB too..is McCarthy any better?

I like continuity but Hyam was awful at Brighton.I have no problem With Leadbitter who is in my view a much better footballer than Hyam and with a 3-0 win having been recorded its a thumbs up to PJ for having a little more knowledge than any of us-its horses for courses in this game. The people who wish ill on any of our players hav no right to be here.
