Jewell Dismisses Reading Bullard Link
Jewell Dismisses Reading Bullard Link

Town boss Paul Jewell says he knows nothing about national newspaper reports earlier this week linking Reading with a loan move for Blues midfielder Jimmy Bullard.

Jewell said: “No, I’ve heard nothing from Reading. It's news to me.”

Meanwhile, released youngster Jamie Griffiths is training with Blue Square Bet Premier side Braintree Town.

The midfielder, whose six-month Blues deal ended in December, previously spent time on trial with Gillingham and Colchester but without being offered terms.

Keep Bullard! Martin will get suspended eventually and this will give Jimmy a chance. Plus he's got the best goalsmile

Pazelle -Do you honestly thimk that Martin will be suspended? he's calmed down and is not rushing into making rash challenges now, and he's only on 4 bookings and we are well past the cut off for suspension after 5. so he's got to pick up 6 more bookings for a suspension.

Would prefer a player for the future (Carson) on the bench ahead of a has-been, who has shown little since his whopping permanent deal was signed (Bullard).

Jas 0999- have you challenged yourself to use the phrase 'has been' in every post you make? The bench is about having balance for potential outcomes of what may need changing or who may get injured - I agree that josh is unlucky but the current bench probably has wider options available.

Does Bullard sign then relax?
He seems to have been playing to prove a point. But nobody else wants him. So what is the point? He seems to be a reactive personality. Let's hope he can react to being on the bench by sharpening up.

Jimmy looked lively for the few moments that he was on the pitch on Saturday, but prior to that, in earlier games (played in a ridiculous position) his legs looked shot.
Perhaps PJ has learnt more about his Squad, perhaps Jimmy really wants to again do himself justice, but his real position is being occupied by Lee Martin, who is playing his best football now in his favored position.

I think that every team needs a shadow 11 of comporable quality to push the incumbents and step in for injuries, with youngsters and cheap imports in turn pushing the replacements. In my book, Bowyer and Bullard (so keep Jimmy) would be in the shadow 11, leaving no room for Leadbitter, who should probably be encouraged to move on.

I reckon we could live without Bullard he has done the same thing everywhere he's been - looks great for a 1/2 dozen games then average to say the least. I would certainly rather see Carson on the bench at Brighton than Bullard or Leadbetter

I think the Reading thing was Jimmy's P.A working overtime, endevouring to get him back into the team.

Shame, Reading would really enjoy a joker in the changing room, morale builder etc for 18k a week!
