Season Ticket Prices Frozen
Season Ticket Prices Frozen
Thursday, 23rd Feb 2012 08:59

Town have announced that season ticket prices will remain the same for the 2012/13 season. It’s the fifth time in six seasons that prices have been frozen, only last year seeing a rise of 6%.

That means an adult seat in the lower tier of the Sir Bobby Robson Stand or South Stand purchased prior to the early bird deadline will cost £390. Existing season ticket holders will be sent full details from the week commencing 5th March along with a letter from Town owner Marcus Evans.

Chief executive Simon Clegg said: "I recognise that the purchase of a season ticket is perhaps a bigger commitment now than ever before, given the testing financial situation we are in so we have decided not to increase prices for 2012/13, despite pressures to do so to meet our own rising costs.

"We have also extended our interest free payment scheme from eight months to 12 months and maintained the 50% Premiership Cashback offer.

"In addition we have listened to our fans who wanted to see an U20 price category introduced in Sir Bobby Robson Stand lower and acted on that and supporters can also now renew their season tickets online as well as by the traditional means.

"Season ticket holders provide the foundation for any football club. Their support is greatly appreciated and never taken for granted."

Over 12 months that's considerably cheaper than a full Sky package.

They can make up for this by changing shirt every season and charging £40 a pop.

One has to bear in mind that this is a real terms reduction in the cost of a season ticket, given that inflation is running at about 4%.

Well done Town. Unmitigated good news.

Its the least ME could do for loyal fans, as long as they don't raise the price of food and drink in the ground. 12 months int free is usefull, but no real conscession

It's not the least he could do Velvet - the least he could do is a higher than inflation increase, then an inflationary increase, then a below inflation increase, then a price freeze and finally a price reduction.

As such it is the 2nd best thing they could have done and the best that could be expected given the current financial position of the club (i.e. outgoings outweighing income).

Good news, and good timing given our recent run of wins. Let's get the renewal packs out ASAP!

The club just needs to sort out match day ticket prices now.

PS Is it possible to buy a mini season ticket for the rest of this season, then be eligible for early-bird renewal prices next season?

Clegg should have asked people who walk to the game to pay extra and the extra put in a pool to help pay for the petrol of those who have to drive to the game

Plus free pies of course and if you can produce 4 ticket stubs and have not been thrown out of the ground they let you keep the top to your bottle of pop

seems fair

U20s in the north stand, hallelujah! But will they be told to grow up or stay away again if they try to create a little atmosphere?

Nice one Cleggy - Now get and move them away fans, like we all asked you, to the far end of the Cobbold so we can have some banter with them in the North and create a decent atmosphere at Portman Rd once again...

very sensible peice of business, the move to 12 months interest free is very shrewd as it opens up the season tickets to lower income / part time / student type fans, when i was at school, working part time and a season ticket holder, my dad used to have to bank roll it and i paid him back over 12 monthly installments from my wages, otherwise i couldnt afford it, good to see the club taking the initiative......

Good news but its scandalous wot we charge the away fans.I brought a West Ham fan with me the other evening and his ticket cost him £40!!!!! That is an absolute disgrace.Earlier in the season Leeds fans bombarded the phone ins complaining of the same which is why in return we were charged £34 at Elland Rd. Most people wont care less but it does affect us(people who travel to all away matches) as clubs will act on a tit for tat basis. Its Something that should be looked into as its very rare with fuel and parking that there is much change from £80.
