No Cash Turnstiles for West Ham
No Cash Turnstiles for West Ham
Friday, 27th Jan 2012 11:53

Town have announced that no cash turnstiles will be open at Tuesday’s game against West Ham after a police request. However, Blues fans already on the club’s database will be able to buy seats on the night from the Ticket Office.

John Ford, Town’s Ticket office manager, told the club site: "We have a strict policy of only selling tickets in the home areas to home supporters which is why only those on our database will be able to purchase tickets from the Ticket Office on the night.

"We're expecting a big crowd for the visit of West Ham and all supporters are encouraged to get to the ground as early as possible to avoid the queues."

Tickets are available in advance via the club website.

Why not give them more seats and have cash turnstiles for visiting supporters only?

Just a thought.

They will outnumber us anyway so cannot see what the problem is

wont make any difference. There are hundreds of West Ham fans living in this area and i would imagine a lot of them would already have their tickets for the home end either because they are already on the database or have friends that are. Agree with a previous post. give them more seats and get some cash in!

What a load of nonsense. This policy will result in an attendance of 20,000 if we are lucky.

Much as I dislike West Ham United and their boorish, blinkered Cockernee supporters*, I can see the wisdom in giving them loads of tickets and getting masses of cash in. It would keep them out of home areas as well.

They'd probably outsing us which would mean we'd have to up our game considerably in the terraces.

*before anyone complains, I am of London parentage myself until my folks escaped!

Good move by the old bill, the fewer of those knuckle dragging cretins in our ground the better.

tractorboy2434. so how are they gonna outnumber us then? they get a maximum of 2500 seats, so even if the crowd only 16000 we still got many more than them. yes, im sure therell be some in other areas of the ground, but it wont be in large numbers. so why post such a daft comment?

@ blues1 - I presume he must read the comments on all the forums lately and therefore assumed that daft comments are the norm on here.

PitseaBlue:

There will be lots of Ipswich based Hammers fans coming out of the woodwork to see their team once a year and be sitting amongst us anyway - unfortunately.

Shame, because Clegg did such a good job painting them. Not so good at signing players though ...

There will be West Ham fans everywhere and I am sure as usual the stewards will do nothing about it. As happened many times over recent years with Colchester,Leeds etc

Im afraid to inform the true blues, the Hammers fan base for this region, ie 25 mile radius is in excess of 5000-7000. The vast majority of those (over 50%) have already got tickets, sitting with their families and friends whom are both Ipswich and West Ham fans. If Town followed us Irons and made the night a kids for £1 night the ground would be full, especially with blues fans. West Ham have now done 5 kids for a £1 days..hence 11th largest home attendance in whole of English/Scottish leagues...Ipswich miss so many crowd pleasing and money making ideas Im afraid..

jas0999. wondered how long itd be before you made a negative comment? which would be ok if your facts correct. if he no good at signing players, how come we've signed so many new players this season? think before you post i think is the motto here. base your posts on facts, not just a desire to criticise. theres enough negativity surrounding the club as it is without people adding to it on here. & no, i dont mean just you. we're all frustrated & down about whats going on but simply being negative for the sake of it, isn't the answer.
