Stockdale Sad to Leave Town
Stockdale Sad to Leave Town
Wednesday, 14th Dec 2011 16:48

David Stockdale says he's sad to be leaving Town early to return to parent club Fulham.

The 26-year-old tweeted: "Sad to be leaving such a great club with great people and some of the best fans in the country! But happy to be back at Fulham. Come on boys!"

Stockdale, who is not expected to feature in this evening's Europa League game against Odense, had been due to spend the season with the Blues but the Cottagers triggered their 24-hour recall after Mark Schwarzer suffered a neck injury.

Soon after the recall was confirmed, Stockdale's wife Katie announced that she is pregnant with the couple's third child.

Poor at crosses? I don't really remember any 'Fulop-esque' flaps. some of our losses would've broken scoreboards had he not been there. And for those he say he wasn't vocal, i regularly heard him from row J of the South Stand.

Garv - Regardless of the players in front of him, ALB is susceptible to criticism. He has conceded 15 goals in his last 4 Town games (5 against Norwich, 4 against Swansea, 2 against Northampton and 4 against Burnley). Sadly for ALB, who did save us at times during the 09/10 when thrown into the fold by Keano, he has not proven himself at any point really since Jewell took over. And some of the goals he gave away in that derby match in April, the Swansea game that following week, and Northampton in the Carling Cup in August were criminal and basic errors that you should expect from a rookie goalkeeper, not a 27 year old.

I am not saying that changing goalkeepers is going to get us clean sheets, the defensive mentality of our team is not currently the best, but what I am trying to say is, are we making any progress if we have a goalkeeper who makes a basic costly error for every top class save made? Stockdale proved on various occasions (Forest away for the first goal a prime example) that he has lots to learn on crosses, it is easy to forget that he missed a lot of crosses and should have conceded more goals that way than he did in the end.

* Cheers Cheshire Blue. I am glad that there are people out there who don't seem to think we have lost the next Gordon Banks!!!

A result of relying on loan players in key positions.
And when Collins and Andrews go in the next few weeks ,where does that leave us?
Pathetic and short minded management from the top down.
Until Clegg and PJ go can't see things changing.Despite our superb come back at Barnsley the situation at ITFC is a shambles.ME please show yourself and sort this mess out.
