Midfielder Keith Andrews said he and the rest of the squad believed they should have beaten Watford after the Hornets left Portman Road with a 2-1 victory.

Andrews said: "We're obviously devastated not to have won the game and I felt that our performance deserved more than a defeat.

"I thought on the whole we put in a good shift and we didn't get our just rewards, which was the disappointing aspect.

"We're all big and bold enough to realise that seven defeats on the spin isn't good enough and we need to a get a win as soon as possible, which hopefully will be against Barnsley on Saturday."

Defender Ibrahima Sonko was left frustrated by the penalty he conceded, tweeting: “Soft penalty is killing me, so annoyed. Can't believe it.”

Unused sub Reece Wabara was similarly frustrated: “Disappointing result, but can't fault the players’ desire. Very unfortunate to get something out the game. The fans were great as always.”

So as much as this was a better performance against a team who we has struggled to beat season after season this is not good enough. The buck I am affraid stops with PJ. 8 losses on the trot not acceptable,if Jewell survives this week it's last chance at Barnsley

I see the managerial rumours have started, with Steve Bruce the first name to come up (sunday express). But going back to the game yesterday, town did play better BUT we still lost !!! Marcus Evans face showed no emotions, I would have liked to know what he was thinking ???? especially with the crowd down another 1,000 which means in money terms a loss of £27,000 to £30,000 from last week. Soon it will be only season ticket holders attending the games ??? Barnsley is a must win game now, but my confidence is draining away..
