Andrews and Ireland Confirm Qualification as Priskin Scores Again Tuesday, 15th Nov 2011 21:51
Town loanee Keith Andrews and the Republic of Ireland completed the job of qualifying for Euro 2012 with a 1-1 draw against Estonia in Dublin this evening, Giovanni Trapattoni’s side winning their two-legged play-off 5-1 on aggregate. Meanwhile, striker Tamás Priskin scored his third international goal in two games for Hungary in a friendly defeat in Poland.
Andrews won his 26th full cap and played the full 90 minutes with the tie effectively won in Tallinn on Friday when the 31-year-old midfielder opened the scoring with his third full international goal.
Priskin, who netted two goals in a 5-0 friendly victory over Liechtenstein on Friday, was on target in another friendly this time in Poland.
The 25-year-old levelled for his side on 77 — his 11th full international goal in his 38th game - but the Poles grabbed a winner with five minutes remaining.
Keeper David Stockdale was again left waiting to make his full international debut as England beat Sweden 1-0 in a friendly at Wembley.
Elsewhere, Cody Cropper, 18, was between the sticks for a US side mainly made up of U20 players which lost 3-0 to a Bayer Leverkusen U19s team during their German training camp.

Garv...a good header, and a couple of sniffer's goals:
Hope he keeps his place on Saturday; I've always thought he's a class act, but I get the feeling he's one of those players who gets his confidence from knowing that his manager (and the fans) have faith in him - sadly, pretty much the opposite of what he's had at Ipswich...
Priskins goals against Liechsten-whatever seemed simple goal poaching tap ins. Sort of thing you see on training grounds and warm ups, not exactly goals of the season. Not overly excited about the Polish goal -again a little more luck than skill against weak opponenets. Still, if it increases his value and chances of moving on, then best of luck to him, but I'd disagree about him being a Class act. Shame, as he had so much potential, but just doesnt seem to have given the results for ITFC.
Priskin, like most strikers plays on confidence. A run of games and a couple of goals in off his backside and we may see a different player. Lets not forget that he was given a run of games under Keane and was MOTM on this website a few games running (and keane was booed for subbing him) What i hate about Town fans is that they'd rather get on the back of a player (rather than SUPPORTING him) and dent his confidence even more which helps no one!
Idiotic comments from morons about Priskin - thankfully others see him as a talented player, which he is playing for the right Manager, one who will ensure he gets the service that all strikers need. He's had absolutely none at this Club.
All some of you prove is that you know nothing about the game at all.
h32.... you dont need a great deal of knowledge about football to see the facts, priskin is lazy , his goals to games ratio is poor(in the championship),he has had half a dozen ok games for town, again no real science these are facts, a fresh start is what he needs. get rid. but i do wish him well... COYB
Dissboyitfc - not sure how much you have been involved in the game -but anyway you should know that Strikers need two things - 1. Play to their Strengths - 2. Give them Service.
We do neither - I'm sure our other current incumbents would agree with this.
If Chopra can shed the demons, keep himself focused, play him up front with Priskin - AND GIVE THEM SERVICE THEY NEED - they would score for fun between them in the Championship.
The rest of the team is what needs kicking into shape otherwise you will NEVER know the potential this partnership could so easily give us. IT'S THERE.
He will never score 20plus goals for us in a season. He is basically lazy. Sell him on asap and get Billy Clarke in a goalscorer who works his nuts off
He's had the same service as Scotland and he's scored goals. The amount of chances Priskin has missed in his time here is unbelievable. He is really not THAT good H32.
h32... i really have to question your football knowledge... getting out of the chamnpionship is going to require hard work, remember the awesome shefki kuqi ? not a great footballer, but would chase lost causes all day, to quote joe royle, " chase scrap pieces of paper". yes we need skill, but a real basic requirement is hard work and a never say die attitude, priskin sadly missing for me and several other posters on here the basic requirements to help us push on up the table..coyb
