Griffiths Sees Red as Plymouth Lose
Griffiths Sees Red as Plymouth Lose

On-loan midfielder Jamie Griffiths picked up the first red card of his career five minutes from the end of Plymouth’s 2-1 defeat at Cheltenham this afternoon. The 19-year-old, in his second month with the now-out-of-administration Pilgrims, caught Robins defender Luke Garbutt with a late tackle and was shown a straight red by referee Jon Moss.

Griffiths, who was making his fourth start of his spell with the League Two table-proppers in addition to five appearances as a sub, later said sorry to Argyle supporters via Twitter: “Absolutely gutted. Would just like to apologise too all the Plymouth fans. You have no idea how devastated I am!”

Elsewhere, Jaime Peters played the full 90 minutes at right-back as his Bournemouth side won 3-1 at Preston North End, his seventh appearance for the League One Cherries.

Andy Drury also played the full game for Crawley as they drew 1-1 at home to Accrington Stanley. The midfielder has now made eight appearances for the League Two side but is yet to add to his debut goal.

Bournemouth's form seems to have picked up since they brought in Peters.

Would still like to see the lad used in midfield for ITFCCOYB
