Quinn on Trial at Doncaster
Quinn on Trial at Doncaster
Saturday, 23rd Jul 2011 10:28

Doncaster Rovers assistant manager Richard O’Kelly says former Blues midfielder Alan Quinn is impressing during a trial at the Keepmoat Stadium. TWTD was first to report that Doncaster had renewed their interest in the 32-year-old earlier in the month.

O’Kelly said: “Alan Quinn is an experienced player and he does what it says on the tin. He keeps the ball well and understands what he is doing both with and without it.”

Quinn, who was released by Town in May having missed the entire 2010/11 season due to a groin injury, played in a friendly at Mansfield on Tuesday.

Despite their slide towards the end of last year Sean O'Driscoll has done a fabulous job at Doncaster. Its a great credit to see Donny holding their own and showing the mighty other clubs of Yorkshire (Wednesday& Blades) that reputation and so called Priemership pedigree holds no favours in the Championship. Sheffield must be a very depressed city with its two clubs languishing in the third tier, whilst its little neighbours continue to surprise everybody, Now it could be a relegation fight for Donny this year but Irecall the Donny chairman saying a few years he was trying to build a club on the Ipswich model. I think and sincerely hope that Quinny can do a very good job for Donny. He is an honest and hard working player and needs some luck after last years horrendous run of injuries. Would really be pleased tosee him in a Donny shirt when they visit Portman road this year.

"He keeps the ball well and understands what he is doing both with and without it." Yes, he does. 90% of the time. The other 10% is deadly, though.
