Town have announced the ticket prices for the Carling Cup first round tie against Northampton at Portman Road on Tuesday 9th August (KO 7.45pm).

Seats, which will go on sale in mid-July, will cost £15 for adults, £10 for students and concessions and only £1 for under-16s.

The sides most recently met in the same competition last season at the fourth round stage, also at Portman Road, Town winning 3-1.

Carlos Edwards, Damien Delaney and Tamás Priskin scored the goals as the Blues came from behind to win after a deflected Liam Davis shot had put the League Two side in front.

Good under 16 prices, would like to see students for a fiver and adults for a tenner but I guess the club are moving in the right direction bearing in mind the small crowd will struggle to pay for policing

£15 to watch the first round against a League 2 club- still to expensive, expecially when you think when we watched the Semi's at Arsenal for a tenner.

Is this a joke?

Should of been flat fee of £5 for everyone.

Very reasonable for 90 minutes of entertainment on a balmy August night.

it was £15 for adults last time we played at home at this stage of the comp - home to Orient in 2008, so same price as 3 years ago. Bet we can't say the same when they announce the league prices for next season

i agree with maysixth a fiver for the game to get suuporters who have not been for a while to perhaps comeback!

i reckon that when we buy are season tickets that it should cover every match leauge and cup!!

It is not just the price of the seats. Add in £8 each for the train. A drink perhaps. There's not that sort of money about for people anymore. Early doors games need to be a tenner tops for adults and five for concessions. We won't be going despite being season ticket holders. It has to stop somewhere....

I think this is the most they could have charged. I am not unhappy about it, but I think the friendlies should be no more than £10.

The big news awaited of course is the league ticket prices. I hope they have been reduced to attract people back to Portman Road.

Personally, £15.00 for a ticket against Northampton on top of escalating travel costs (not the clubs fault!) - is a little too much for me. £10.00 would have been more reasonable, but I suspect there was a minimum price which both clubs had to agree on. Overall, probably reasonable.

@SitfcB
Actually the Wolves game has been priced. Same prices apart from Under-16's are £3 instead.

still slightly steep considering the emirates prices, but it wont exactly be a capacity crowd, even if the prices were cheap.
