Town have announced the ticket prices for the Carling Cup first round tie against Northampton at Portman Road on Tuesday 9th August (KO 7.45pm).

Seats, which will go on sale in mid-July, will cost £15 for adults, £10 for students and concessions and only £1 for under-16s.

The sides most recently met in the same competition last season at the fourth round stage, also at Portman Road, Town winning 3-1.

Carlos Edwards, Damien Delaney and Tamás Priskin scored the goals as the Blues came from behind to win after a deflected Liam Davis shot had put the League Two side in front.

Early doors games need to be a tenner tops for adults and five for concessions. We won't be going despite being season ticket holders. It has to stop somewhere....

Mark added 16:47 - Jun 24 I think this is the most they could have charged. I am not unhappy about it, but I think the friendlies should be no more than £10. The big news awaited of course is the league ticket prices. I hope they have been reduced to attract people back to Portman Road.

jas0999 added 17:56 - Jun 24 Personally, £15.00 for a ticket against Northampton on top of escalating travel costs (not the clubs fault!) - is a little too much for me. £10.00 would have been more reasonable, but I suspect there was a minimum price which both clubs had to agree on. Overall, probably reasonable.
