Bullard Looking to Get Career Back on Track
Bullard Looking to Get Career Back on Track
Thursday, 27th Jan 2011 18:20

New loan signing Jimmy Bullard says he hopes he can get his career back on track after his injury-hit spell at Hull City. Knee injuries have severely hampered the 32-year-old’s time with the Tigers and the midfielder has made just 24 appearances since signing from Fulham for £5 million in January 2009.

Bullard told the club site that he had little hesitation when his former Wigan boss Paul Jewell called him: "The gaffer got on the phone to me and said I'd enjoy it down here and it's a great opportunity for me to come and play at a great club like Ipswich.

"It's a new beginning for me and I'm looking forward to getting some football under my belt. I could never really get going at Hull. The injuries stopped me getting a run going. I have not played in the last few games and the people there said it would be best for me to go and get some football.

"It suited all parties for me to come here. I just want to get back playing and enjoying my football again and hopefully I'll do that here."

I believe that this signing will be great for both JB and town, he is a quality, gifted midfielder, hopefully he will start taking the set pieces as from now, he will add creativity and experience of the top flight.

A very warm welcome JB......COYB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A play maker, PJ has succeeded within weeks ,in seeing what we need ,right back (didnt come off) play maker and another striker, not a panic buy like Keano did with Scotland ......PJ you Have Impressed me .....Cant wait to play the scum and take revenge.....PJ keep it up....Things can only get better

I'm struggling to see where he will fit in at the moment, only here till the end of the season and can't imagine chuck or grant being happy not in the first team, will one or both be gone in the summer? Or will jimmy just be a super sub? Still think the unrest in the club will continue until the end of the season unless players go now or get new contracts

Thrilled at his signing.
Always been a fan, someone who enjoys his football, and quite obviously doesn't take himself or others too seriously.

I get the impression he sees what most professional players fail to see, just how lucky they are, to get paid for playing football, and enjoys his life to the full....welcome aboard Jimmy, good luck to you.

Paul Jewell has spoken about wanting players to play with a smile on their face, and Jimmy should certainly bring that going by www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukn0D5DLYxg !

A really exciting signing and hopefully not too risky as he is only on loan. As to where he will fit in, Bullard was in the England squad and cost Hull £5M so I am sure he will walk easily into the team in the centre of midfield from where he can create chances for our strikers and unleash his set pieces. We need a worker too, which Hyam, Leadbitter and Norris all are, so I think it is Bullard + 1 in the centre. Norris (if he stays) could play on the right perhaps, as he has done well in that position of late.
