Hull: Town Paying Bigger Share of Bullard's Wages
Hull: Town Paying Bigger Share of Bullard's Wages
Thursday, 27th Jan 2011 14:18

Hull City’s head of football operations Adam Pearson has dismissed claims that the Blues will only pay £10,000-a-week of loan signing Jimmy Bullard’s £45,000 weekly wage. Reports in East Yorkshire now claim the Blues will pick up around £20,000 of Bullard's earnings.

Pearson says the half-season switch will do the 32-year-old midfielder good: "Jimmy obviously hasn't been playing for us over recent weeks. It is close to his home down there, and the move may well be the spark he needs to kickstart his season.

“He needs to play games on a consistent basis to recapture his match fitness. Jimmy is undoubtedly a player of considerable talent and Paul Jewell knows that.

“The financial saving for the club is obviously considerable and far more than the Hull Daily Mail's speculation of £10,000 per week!

"The loan contribution from Ipswich for Jimmy more than pays for Corry Evans, Tijani Belaid and Cameron Stewart. “

Evans and Stewart are on loan at the KC Stadium from Manchester United, while Tunisian international Belaid has signed on a free transfer.

Unconfirmed reports in Hull claim that Town will pay 40% of Bullard's wages, which is around £20,000-a-week.

Let's all thank Marcus Evans in our prayers cos it's coming out of his pocket (you know, the elusive owner who knows nothing about football and only purchased our glorious club because apparently it will make him a fortune and enhance the reputation of his other interests)

bullard is a great player but the wage packet is worrying, especially if he comes here and doesnt perform. I like the fact that paul jewells looking to the lower leagues for players like austin, its usually where you find the gems and they dont come with a massive wage demand. Lets hope bullard performs, i suppose the fact that he's only on loan means that if he doesn't perform well we'll only be paying his wages for a few more months.

I think you will see a remergance of Bullard as we have seen in the past he is an exceptionally talented and intelegent player when you have these skills the essence of speed is nulified I put him in a leauge with Paul scholes he has great anticipation great awareness of space and timed passing thats all we need to gravitate the ball forward Edwards is now free to shoot from range Priskin and Scotlands Job will be made alot easier not always tracking back to defend put bullard with leadbitter and move peters to wing that is a fantastic combo things are really getting exciting bring on the rest of the season and Norwich we owe a few watch this space were coming to get you all!!!

He will not be on silly money, ipswich have a strict wage struture.. it wont be broken for a "gamble" imo. He will be proberly be on equal as the top paid player

Hull are trying to save face, as they offered a 29 year old a huge contract to get him away from Fulham.

Like Garv said, I would also have been happy if Keane had signed Bullard. He was a match winner in the Premiership only 2 seasons ago!
