Monday, 8th Nov 2010 14:46

Tickets have gone on sale for Town’s Carling Cup quarter-final against West Bromwich Albion at Portman Road on Wednesday 1st December (KO 7.45pm). Adult season ticket holders will pay £5 less than non-season ticket holders for their seats.

Prices for season ticket holders are £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, students and under-20s, and £5 for under-16s.

Non-season ticket holders’ prices are £25 for adults, £17 for concessions, students and under-20s, and £7 for under-16s.

Prices on the day of the game rise to £28 for adults, £19 for concessions, students and under-20s, and £8 for under-16s.

Tickets are currently on sale to season ticket holders and Silver Card holders with general sale starting on Monday 22nd November. Full details on the club site.

West Brom will not be taking their full allocation which means season ticket holders in areas A, B, C and E can purchase their usual seats. Season ticket holders on the pre-paid cup scheme will have their payment taken automatically.

I agree. Would have expected Mr Evans to be more imaginative with the pricing for a quarter final cup game. 15,000 at best I reckon : (

Too expensive. It will put a lot off going. A big crowd would have given us a bigger advantage. I'll be there though and hope there is a good atmosphere

Town being greedy! WBA not taking full allocation, how many walk ins at £28?

Oh dear Town fans ripped off again to see WBA reserves.

won't make the long trip at those prices.

I reckon we will be pushed to match the Northampton gate here.
Missed opportunity to pump up the volume with a big home crowd.

The comments above are another perfect example of fickle two faced Ipswich 'supporters'..... If we had been drawn at home to Manchester or Arsenal then you lot would of paid full price and had a smile on your face. It goes to prove once again that a large proportion of 'supporters' only attend cup matches to watch the opposition and not support Ipswich.
I take it from the previous comments that these posters wouldn't attend Wembley for the final should the unimaginable happen..... You wouldn't want to pay those prices now would you !!!

The fact of the matter is that WBA are not Arsenal or Man Utd (or even West Ham for that matter) so the prices should reflect this. It's winter, people are saving for Christmas and the new Shayne Ward album is out soon so there are other unavoidable expenses this time of year.

I'm going anyway as I love a good Rumbelows Cup tear-up but appreciate that this is too much for many fans. I imagine ITFC's catering is external as otherwise letting in fans cheaply would have allowed Town to reap the whirlwind when it came to beers, hot-dogs, burgers and, presumably Twix bars.

Sadly the crowd will be no higher than 17,000...

Should have been £15 (adults) £10 (concessions) and £5 under 16s.

Would also be worth saying that if you buy a ticket then you get priority after the usual people for semi seats. That'd get people in out of fear.

I can not afford the time to attend all matches - 250 mile round trip - so tend not to bother with League Cup ties or friendlies - the league and FA Cup being more important to me. Although a ST holder, I would not be persuaded to attend this game even if it was free for adults.

Sorry, the LC is a reserve team competition.

I agree that the prices are too high. £25 for a non-season ticket holder adult in the North Stand is only £1 lower than usual, isn't it? I will go, although it is a tad disappointing that the club could not have helped the fans out a bit on this one during tough economic times.

A Quarter Final and a very winnable game. Surely they should be packing PR to the rafters and creating an atmosphere to give us that extra bit of a chance to get through seeing as we got the advantage of a home draw not reducing the prices by a paltry amount like this!!!

P**s Poor!

Still going though. Come on the Towen!!

the facts

£25 x 15000 fans £375,000

£15.00 x 21000 fans £315,000

would have to sell 25000 @ £15.00 to get £25 @ 15000

the fact is money talks its a business not a game

I am a Town fan and get to 50% of the matches home or away.
This is our first cup quarter final for 10 years and the measge boards should be talking about Wembley not ticket prices, but I understand the debate- I do not think anyone is really thinking about Wembley because it is highly unlikely that we will get there such is the gap between Ipswich and any Premier league reserve side that we will have to play such is the financial gulf.
Someone above said Football is a business - but football is what it is because of the dreams the fans have, that we should have about getting to Wembley, and slowly business is destroying our dreams and will destroy our game.
Anyone dreaming of the Premier League again?

£25 has not been a fair price for 95% of Town games in the last 3 years that i have been to.
£26 at Sheff Utd was over priced- the standard was pretty awful, £31 for Derby tomorrow in J block is unlikely to represent value for money.

Before you decide to blame only ITFC/Mr Evans for this then perhaps you lot need to bear the following in mind:

1) The Football League set a minimum price for tickets at League Cup matches, as they take some of the revenue;

2) ITFC and West Brom have to come to an agreement for tickets prices between themselves, as revenue is, I believe, 50:50.

Very quick to blame, very slow to get facts right. Same old same old...

See Phil Ham's comment from when you lot were moaning about the price of Northampton Town tickets:

PhilTWTD added 20:58 - Sep 29

jas0999

Not sure what it is but there is a minimum that the Football League allow clubs to charge, which, given that the minimum in the FA Cup is £15, is unlikely to be as low as £10. The League take 10% of the income with both clubs splitting the rest.

Hugoagogo - yes agreed, but alas £15.00 would surely have been a better price to pay? It's not moaning, but we have to accept that money is tight. Goodness 500,000 public sector workers are due to lose their jobs - the impact will be major. The club have to realise that Christmas is fast approaching. PhilTWTD correctly pointed out there is a cap, but £20.00 seems steep - so much more to pay for. Sadly.

I'm no longer a season ticket holder, they became too expensive a few years ago, so I 'cherry pick' games now, basically I go to a few games where I can get a cheap ticket. I'd have paid £20, but not £25 for this, so unless I can borrow someone's ST I won't be going to this one. Shame.

bluechick added 23:29 - Nov 8
Hugoagogo, last round ties at villa & newcastle were a tenner for adults!

ITFC = rip off.

Even at reduced prices expect 14,000 max crowd to watch a reserve game. WBA will give their squad players a run out and we won't be much better.

NOBODY expects us to get to Wembley even if we get past the mighty crowd pullers WBA so why not reward loyal fans, ie seson ticket holders with entry for a tenner?

well said sir! it's a qtr final of a major cup, if town supporters can't be bothered to turn-up for that then they don't deserve the team, nobitch at nearly 25k on saturday, coventry 28k, derby even more our support is pretty poor.

People need to stop saying the baggies will field a "reserve" team. They want to win the cup and get European qualification, they want a trophy. They will not be taking this lightly at all. First team all the way. £20.00 is fair, I have an ST so happy but should be £20.00 all adults.
