Hungarian Duo Called Up for Friendly
Hungarian Duo Called Up for Friendly
Wednesday, 3rd Nov 2010 12:48

Town duo Tamás Priskin and Márton Fülöp have been named in the Hungary squad for their friendly with Lithuania in Budapest on Wednesday 17th November.

Hungarian head coach Sándor Egervári watched the pair in action as they helped the Blues to a 2-0 victory over Millwall on Saturday and was impressed: "It was pleasing to see that both players were in the team and both performed well in the clash.

"Priskin assisted for the first goal and for the second the foul was committed against him for Ipswich's penalty. He was clearly the dominant player for his team and did much help his side win."

Keeper Fülöp has previously won 21 full caps, while striker Priskin has scored seven goals in 29 Hungary appearances.

Hungary: Márton Fülöp (Ipswich Town), Gábor Király (TSV 1860 München), Pál Lázár (Videoton FC), Krisztián Vermes (Újpest FC), Zoltán Lipták (Videoton FC), Ádám Pintér (Real Zaragoza), Roland Juhász (RSC Anderlecht), Tamás Kádár (Newcastle United), Zsolt Laczkó (DVSC-TEVA), Vladimir Koman (U.C Sampdoria), Zoltán Gera (Fulham), Tamás Hajnal (Borussia Dortmund), Ákos Elek (Videoton FC), József Varga (DVSC-TEVA), Balázs Dzsudzsák (PSV Eindhoven), Péter Czvitkovics (DVSC-TEVA), Gergely Rudolf (Genoa CFC), Ádám Szalai (1.FSV Mainz 05), Tamás Priskin (Ipswich Town).

Whoppit . . . . . . . dude your not funny, he's done well this season so your not right either, at least with past moaners they actually had a point whereas yours is just unimaginitive and dull. I bet you just sit there waiting for a news story and spend at least 15 minutes thinking of something funny to say, and then you write this trash.

@whoppit........ while Tamas may not be a prolific striker (i think we can all agree here) the fact you say the lituanians have nothing to fear from Tamas is a bit over the top, fair enough her doesnt score many, but he is a nusiance around the area, and will create goals for the team, whether it be directly by crossing or passing or by winning a penalty or free kick in dangerous area's, so to say they have nothing to fear is a little over the top methinks....

hopefull Tamas will get some game time and find that awareness in order to keep onside and bang a few in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C.O.Y.B!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, because I do not like Priskin and think he is crap, I must be a Budgie. Grow the hell up !!! Okay, you want facts?? Here they are.

Priskin has played 30 or so games for us and scored 5 or 6 goals and about half of those was in the domestic cup competitions against lower league sides. And some of you are drooling over this??? How standards have slipped.

I stand by my comment that with a prolific scorer such as Priskin up against them, Lithuanians must be shaking in their boots NOT.

Priskin is crap and you lot need to realise it. But if you lot want to drool over him, go right ahead. You are happy with lower standards obviously.

Whoppit - relook at your stats, how many of those games has he been used as a sub for the last 10 minutes, how many of those games have been in a row? All strikers need games and confidance, Ipswich fans were good to him against Millwall and gave a standing avoatation, which i think will make him believe a bit more in his abilities, which we have seen in recent games. I bet you were one of thos idiotic town fans in the south stand slagging him off, which isnt helping anyone. Given a run of games will allow him to get a realtionship with his fellow striker and give him confidance which every strikers needs.

Goals to minutes ratio he is our best player by some distance this season. Let him have a run in the team before people start slating him because he hasn't had a run of games, as Martus has already said.

Keep deluding yourself Martus - but know that Keane's time is coming to a close and the new manager will clear out the deadwood and Priskin & Martin will be the first ones out of the door. Let us see which clubs will be clamouring to sign Priskin shall we? QPR?? LOL - no they sent him back with a lawsuit as Ipswich told them he was a footballer. Oh yes, 1 goal in 13 for QPR. Oooohhhhhh

Exactly Tractorboy85, how can a striker get settled when he doesnt know if he'll play even if he gives a MOM peformance in the previous game?

alfromcol added 14:28 - Nov 3
Why don't we all ignore whxxxpit, he is only looking for attention

alfromcol: Agree totally.

whoppit added 14:35 - Nov 3
Facts hurt don't they alfromcol??? You and some of these deluded fans are the reason why standards are so low. Kick up a fuss at the boring crap football you are watching. Kick up a fuss about our clueless manager. Town used to be a grand club but standards have slipped so much, you lot are happy with languishing in the Championship season after season while "little" clubs like Blackpool are in the Premier and earning mega money.

You may be happy to settle for this but I am not and I am going to carry on telling it like it really is. But let us see how happy and content you are if we get whipped in the cup game and beaten by the Budgies in the league. God forbid.

Your right Whoppit at the fact the football is not to Ipswichs high standards, but i feel Priskin is like Counago in his style, but i feel he is a better alround player than him. I dont think our long ball style suits Priskin, and i dont like this style Keane has got us playing, if Burley was manager i feel he would be a better player. So its not that Prisking is a bad player, but he is badly used be a Keane. PS. I am not a Keane fan either.

Martus - that was an intelligent comment. I may not agree with it but I respect it.
