Civelli on Target as Reserves Draw at Stevenage
Civelli on Target as Reserves Draw at Stevenage

Luciano Civelli netted his first reserves goal of the season as the Blues' second string drew 2-2 at Stevenage this evening. Northern Ireland U19 international Caolan Lavery scored Town's other goal.

Coach Chris Kiwomya told the club site that his side ought to have picked up all three points: "We should have won the game.

"We created some good opportunities but didn't take them and paid the price again for it.

"Shane O'Connor had a great chance at the end but fired over the bar. Luca and Caolan had chances to have won it as well. We had plenty of openings but didn't take them.

"Their keeper made some good saves and we had moments of good play. We gave them two sloppy goals, giving the ball away, and we can't seem to keep a clean sheet at the moment, but we did enough to have won."

Boss Roy Keane was amongst those watching the game from the stands.

Reserves: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, O'Connor, Hourihane, Hyam, McKeown, Clark, Griffiths, Lavery, Cawley, Civelli.

They have done brilliantly considering half of last years youths/reserves graduated to first team duty this season. Providing players and support to first team is surely the main objective of the reserves!
The academedy & reserves have served us excellently!
Well done Kris & Brian klug

It does seem odd our reserves can't beat a Stevenage second string

Was at game and we did give away the ball and look abit shaky at the back at times.
Going forward O' Connor and Jack A did well - Civelli took goal well - second goal was a good move and should have had three or four more but then Steve could have added to their tally
Luca showed some touches and also showed that those 50/50 challenges are not to be risked
It is gt that RK does blood youngsters and I could see Ainsley appearing on the bench again soon
It is a shame that the ressie league is so poor they just do not get enough good run outs and tests against better opposition - having said that Steve had better of first half - we stepped up abit in second and probably shaded it - just did not take our chances .. Keano was there - brooding at the back ..
