ChamberSM and Ozzydog

Here is your chance to go to the meeting and tell Mr Clegg what you think and who you would like to replace Keane.

The team are in a better position than last year but you are still not happy and do you really think Ipswich are ready for Prem football?

I would like to see another season in the Championship with the side strengthed so when we do go up we dont get hammered week in and week out. once up I would like to see us stay up and not do a W.B.A.

Suffer from abroad so cannot go

My opnion is that despite £m`s spent zero progress has been made

The old ready for Prem agrument eh?
Were Blackpool? Were ITFC in 2000? It`s a non argument.

No surpise seeing chambers being negative as even if we are doing well for example he will still find a negative out at that.

Ozzydog zero progress has been made what a load of rubbish of course progress has been made since keane has been in charge and the problem is your going to get set backs in a season i am realistic to know we can't win every game in this league i wish we could but we won't.

Overall if keane did not succeed and got sacked/resign i fill personally sorry if this did happen and a new manager was put in charge becuase alot of our fans won't give him much time before they start to shout cries of sack him.

I remember seeing example's of this for keane i say around about the first 6 games we played which is just laughable and sad imo and this is why i fill sorry if keane failed and we got someone in because he wouldn't be given much time before some fans get on his back.

Ozzydog and Chambers the way people like you have acted to the way we have started this season is as if we are bottom and with just 1 pt in your mind's.

Yes the last two results have no been ideal but i rather we have a tough time now and get it out of our system than later on in the season and i understand people are entitled with their views but the situtation is not as bad as people like yourselfs make out.

I would have never have expected to be where we are at this current time of the season and i do hope of course we add a RB and another striker would do imo.

But i am happy with the current side because i believe all fit and ready with the right formation we are a match for alot of teams in the league imo and i hold strongly to this.

Finally chambers and ozzydog just to name 2 if keane was sacked/resign who would you put in charge of the club because i would really like to know to be honest with you.

See your point, However look waht happened to ITFC IN 2000 we needed a rich bloke to bail us out and we are still re- building the side.

Hull had one good season in the Prem and back with us, even Burnley and they are looking a strong Championship side and there is still a possiblility Blackpool will be back in the Championship next year too
Do hope not as it would be nice to see sides like Blackpool in the prem gives us all hope.
Still think we are a long way off the Blackpool and another season in the Championship will do our younger lads no harm and make us a better side in the long run. Feel Keane is the man to do it. A new manager would only want to re build and that would set us back 2 years.

Last year we were bottom with 6 draws and 6 defeats and out of the cup and scoring more and conceding less, so surly progress has been made, maybe not at the speed most would like but then we were never going to be top of the table and scoring 3 and 4 every game as the club is still re building after relegation from the Prem.
Again only my opnion

Perhaps someone will raise once again the fans' unhappiness with the high cost of match day ticket prices? We need to encourage new fans into Portman Road and get some of the old fans back too.

As for the discussion on Keane, I think progress has to be measured against the end of the 2008/9 season. We finished 9th then and we are currently 8th now. I believe many fans feel the entertainment value has fallen since two years ago. So, it is hard to argue that progress has been made. The bottom line for me is that Keane was brought in to get us promoted in two years. I hope he achieves that, but to be sure we need to finish 2nd (we're 8 points behind Cardiff with an 8 point worse goal difference). Stick with Keane this season, but if it becomes clear that we have failed in promotion then I am sure a new manager will be on his way.

My own benchmark is not how well we are doing relative to past seasons (below average vs atrocious) but what established Championship managers can do.

Take what Warnock does in short periods of time and with relatively modest amounts of cash - at Sheffield, Palace and now QPR.

That's what a proper manager who understands Championship players can bring. That's why I think Keane isn't up to it and why we would be better off employing someone who is.

Do I trust Evans and Clegg to understand this? No. They aren't interested. London 2012 is a far bigger pot of gold.

Why don't Ipswich fans go on holiday to Tenerife?

They hate the Canaries!!

i think ozzydog and chambers have every right to be disappointed with keanes reign at the club. with the money he has spent he should be challenging for promotion, he has made enough signings to get it right and he hasnt. i would love keane to get it right but i just cant see it happening.

The Keane argument
Reading some of the comments above, ie entertanment value from now to two years ago.

Decussion

How many of the fans who were calling for Magiltons head are now calling for Keanes head.
How many fans would be happy for us to finish 15th but watch us win or lose 3-2 or 5-4 or would they be happy with boring 1-0's but promotion to the Prem
If we sacked Keane and the fans were given the chance to pick the manager who would it be?

As Town fans we have been told we have no idea what we are talking about so let's stop commenting and dwell on our ignorance.

Saying 'keane out' is not negative it is simply what needs to be done. You pro keaners say you can't judge him 12 games in or whatever but yet you are happy to say 'were eighth now which is better than last year therefore we have improved and just a few points of the top 2 blah blah blah. We have not improved and we won't be up there for long If we keep playing the pathetic 'non' football we are under keane. never was the right man never will be.

I read with interest the comments for and against keane, the problem i see with keano is he's a bit too quick to comment, making statements such as "any idiot can get a team promoted", "will get us promoted in 2 seasons" making comments like that leaves you wide open, time will tell!

ChambersM, please please please show bloody respect, simply because not all of us fans that Keane should be sacked doesn't mean were all Keane-Lovers or Pro-Keane.

I simply support him since he's the manager of my beloved club. His contract ends in April. If we fail he will go, if he doesnt go it means we have had a very good season hence win win. I dont want him sacked because a new manager now would just set us back and not make us competitive this year.

Please just have the patience to wait until the summer and then will be gone if were not up. Please respect people who dont share your view, just because we dont want him out doesnt mean we love the bloody man, not everyone on here is your enemy!

Whether or not you wish to see Keane replaced is subject to your own opinion. I can see both points of view. Yes he has a contract until the end of this season and yes a new manager would mean even more disruption and another settling in period. The facts are though that we have been waiting since Joe Royle's last season for something to get excited about, the prices have increased to a level that makes watching ITFC more expensive than a lot of premiership clubs and the atmosphere at PR is about as low as I can remember. Not all supporters will continue to pay no matter what performances are on show however as far as I am concerned the lack of atmosphere, entertainment and the falling attendances are subjects that urgently need to be addressed by the people in charge.

ChambersM added 21:08 - Oct 21
Yes a manager will need a settling in period. So why not bring him in now and he can settle and build for a year if he has to. We have to be realistic we are not going up this year. If we wait, and keane goes in the summer, the new man will have just one summer to build his team and whatnot so we might as well let him start now and stop dragging our heels with this clown in charge at the moment.

I want ask him why we did not secure signing of Derry why we have not brought in replacement at right back!
Also why do we persist with looking at premier league what has happened to our scouting network both lower leaguesw and abroad? There are players out there who would be much better than these so called premiership stars with no incentive to play in championship
there are players like boyd from peterborough the young lad chamberlin from southampton and lalanna and rickie lamert you got la fondre from rotherham Adam Hamill from Barnsley Ambrose at palace doncaster got some great players why we not in for any of these?

whoppit added 11:26 - Nov 3
Chambers is entirely correct when he says that Ipswich have NOT improved under Roy Keane. We have not. We are floting around in the middle of the Championship not far from where we finished last year. Yeah, only so many points away drom the automatic spots/play off's blah blah blah. In these two years we have wasted millions on average players such as Priskin and Martin. Even Keane saw fit to ship both out on loan. Our team currently consists of loan players and Keane is on the look out for another.

Marcus is probably waiting a bit longer for Keane's contract to run out before giving him the push. Why not do it now Marcus?? Get a new (and experienced) man in and have him steady the ship this season and try for a good promotion push next year.

As for Keane, I have said it once and I will say it again. A great player does not always make a great manager and Keane has proved this is true.

Aside from the mixed results my main concern is the aweful hoofball we are playing at times. Given Keane was always banging on about Ireland playiing that way I thought he might ask the players to keep it on the ground once in a while. I got neckache watching on saturday.
