Youngsters Could Go Out on Loan
Youngsters Could Go Out on Loan

Blues boss Roy Keane says he’s considering whether to let one or two of the younger members of his squad leave on loan in order to gain experience. The Town manager says Republic of Ireland U19 international striker Ronan Murray is amongst those interesting lower league sides.

Keane said: “We’ve spoken to a club over the last few days about one of the boys but I’m reluctant at the moment. But if it’s the right deal and the right club we’ll let them go, if you’re talking about Jack Ainsley, Seb Dunbar or whoever it might be.

“We’ve had enquiries for Ronan, but we’ll see. We want to look after ourselves as well. Some of these boys have to do slightly better in the reserves to get good options because there will be clubs watching them when they’re playing in the reserves.

“I bumped into a manager at Colchester a few weeks ago but I knew I wouldn’t be getting any calls after that game given that performance.”

Gillingham assistant boss Ian Hendon was amongst those watching that match, while Leyton Orient were also represented.

Will do the youngsters well to get games especially with our squad looking stronger than it has in years. With the likes of Wickham, Hyam and Peters playing regularly in the 1st team squad these youngsters should be motivated to push-on at their loan clubs.

I reckon if keane gets his loan striker then a few will head out.

Think Ronan could have a future here, just needs some games to realise his potential and get him buzzing.

Ronan is a cracking player in the making. Iv seen him play U-19 for Ireland and he looks very good. The reports from the reserve games are generally positive also.
Considering we are playing with 1 striker up front, I think we can let Ronan go on loan for a few months and still have back up.

First team experience is invaluable. Let the guys go out and ply their trade.

Too many people spend too many hours on Football Manager!!

Lets be honest we can all put across our opinions on formations, wether a youngster is good enough for the first team etc etc etc, and yes we are all entitled to those opinions.

But lets be fair, Keane is with the players nearly everyday, he knows who is hot and who is not, so lets all just do the one thing we can do well and that is stick to supporting the team.

I have to admit the atmosphere on Saturday was shocking, teams do not fear Portman Road crowds anymore, it was like watching a sunday morning league game during large periods of Saturday, no atmosphere, no support, it needs to get better. There is nothing better than a Portman road crowd at war, real noise, passion, thats what we need every game.

Keane is the gaffer up until Saturday everyone was on a high, keane is the man, everyones buzzing, and we lose Saturday and the moaning starts, its poor, really poor.

I believe Keane has built a harder team this year, i think we will push on and do well, I just want people to support and raise the roof, because it just aint a fortress anymore and that is a big factor in winning matches too regardless of a 4 -1 -4 -1 formation!

Would it not be true that the midfield could have produced a lot more Saturday, some of those lads are more than capable of smashing teams!

if anyone who was at the game last night then you would know that ronan murray was the best striker on the field when he came and if keane let him go then he would be an idiot.

Out of any of the youngsters, Murray would be the one I wouldn't let out on loan, every game I have seen him play in, he has changed the game. Exeter and Watford especially. So keep him, he is a great impact sub.

It will do Murray some good to get some minutes and hopefully goals

However, we need to make sure he goes to the right side, as some players go away and hardly get played

Murray played quite well after coming on as a substitute against Watford. Lower league football could do him some good.
