Former Blue Jason Dozzell is holding more of his two-day coaching courses for kids. The ex-midfielder will be running the sessions at Ransomes Sports Club in Sidegate Avenue on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th October from 10am until 3pm.

The courses are open to both boys and girls aged five-to-13 and cost £25 for two days and £15 for one. Either book by calling 07919 371407 or turn up on the day.

In addition, the one-time England U21 international is running the Jason Dozzell Advanced Soccer School on Monday nights, also at Ransomes Sports Centre.

These 5.15pm-to-6.30pm sessions are open to seven-to-12-year-old boys and girls. Ring the number above for more details and the price, or just turn up on the night.

Whats wrong with giving kids a different perspective on the game?
If anything it will give them more respect for football if they can see the preparation that goes in to training and fielding a football team.
Awareness of basic tactics/formations will inprove their game intelligence and other mental aspects of playing football (such as decision making, communication etc) which are very important part of playing football.
It will help the kids that are lucky enough to have talent to make the most of their ability and allow the other kids to improve other key skills as mentioned above.
The skill of completing a short pass is easy but knowing when and where to make a simple but effective pass takes a little more intelligence.

Well done Town and well done Jason. Maybe some of us town fans and supporters should sign up!

To be fair, I think it's Jason coaching the kids to play football rather than as suggested in the posts.

Your right Phil but I got annoyed when I read the first post earlier.

To be honest most coaches try to tell kids about basic formations/positions and whats expected before and during physical coaching sessions. From the ages of 7-11 kids learn to think logically about objects and events. Its the right to teach some tactical aspects. The mind is like a little sponge. Its also the right age to teach kids "respect" on the football field, not helped by Rooney & Rio et al parading around the newspapers. It annoys me when I read the papers, unfortunately it makes a mockery out of Respect Campaigne and other good work performed by people like Jason.

I am becoming disillusioned by football (mainly Premiership + top clubs) these days but it gives me hope when I see articles like this one and know that clubs like Ipswich (& coaches like Jason + Ransomes Sports Club) are doing their bit.

Well done again Jason!

So maybe change your headline Phil, as it does suggest that he is running courses on how to coach.
