Millwall in Lisbie Loan Talks
Millwall in Lisbie Loan Talks
Tuesday, 27th Jul 2010 13:48

Millwall are reportedly in talks with Town regarding a loan move for striker Kevin Lisbie. Lions boss Kenny Jackett first revealed his interest in the 31-year-old in April.

Lisbie, who spent all of last season on loan at Colchester, has said he would be interested in a switch to the Den: “Having played against them twice last season I have learned about the way Millwall play and I think they'd suit me.”

The frontman, who has a year left on his Town contract, was on the list of eight players made available for transfer by the Blues, who would probably prefer a permanent deal for the former Jamaica international but may accept a loan if Millwall pay a significant proportion of his wages.

Earlier in the week, Lisbie's former club Charlton were linked with a move for the out-of-favour Londoner.

Anything is better than nothing! I guess we wouldn't ask for a fee for him anyway, so as long as they cover 75%+ of his wages its good riddance!

He's a year left on his contract so a year long loan will do nicely! Think it's a case of cutting our losses and accepting we may have to still pay a chunk of his wages for the year.

Well if they pay 75% of his wages like tractorman suggests. we could get abit of money from Millwall by suggesting to them that if they give us a small fee he can play against us. LIke the situiation with Rosiner and Reading last season.
Also a season long loan means at the end he won't be with us as his contract expires. And it will be nice to see him clubless as he probably won't take a pay cut.

Sibo, we did!! It's kinda frustrating this policy of buy high and sell low (well, we can't even sell some of them).

Another burden on our club. paid too much so will see out his contract ( like Pabs) or go on loan and we pay half or more of his wages. Clubs are ripping the backside out of us. We have so many duffers and no one wants to pay a proper fee or match thier generous wages
Disasterous waste of money

Still need to find a home for quinn and pabs and others .

I was at the Den in 1978 when Milwall fans rioted after we had beaten them there six one.

They will be even more angry with us if we send them Lisbie!

like the comment about insisting he plays against us rather than not playing against us......... let them pay his wages and be a bench warmer for them please. also can you see him and trotter in a winning team next year?
