Civelli Plays Another 45 as Reserves Defeat FC Twente
Friday, 23rd Jul 2010 22:38

Luciano Civelli played another 45 minutes on Friday afternoon as Town's reserves beat a second string side from Dutch champions FC Twente 3-0 in a behind-closed-doors game at Playford Road. The Argentinian was playing his fourth game since returning from 16 months out with a serious knee ligament injury.

Also involved in the first half as the Blues scored all the game’s goals was new signing Conor Hourihane. Republic of Ireland U19 international striker Ronan Murray netted two of the goals and trialist Robbie Burns the other.

It will be fantastic if Civelli can show he is over his injury and make an impact for Ipswich this season. We really do need someone on the left, as no we longer have Colback to play there (even though it wasn't his best position) and as Martin was such a flop.

yeh will good good to see a WINGER doing the WINGERS JOB for once lol, beating the LB or RB and gettin balls in, and he can do that for us.

Think about what he will be thinking first home game VS BURNLEY the team that did it to him, he will have to be mentally strong as well for that game!

could be a very big player for us this season, natural width down left will be a massive plus if he can stay fit.

He adds something different to our side, if he stays fit he will be a regular in the starting X1

Good news but i hope the fans don't expect too much too soon from him. Not only has he been out for so long but he's hardly played in English football and that takes adapting to as well.

45 mins... you'd have thought he'd have been restricted to just Twente.

Another 45 mins under his belt. Keep it going Civelli and look forward to seeing you in the team next season.

bontcho - i agree, if he stays fit we wont see the best of him untill 10 - 15 games into the season. still new to the english championship and getting over a very bad injury. we need to support him all the way even after a bad performance.
