Community Trust Wins Award Wednesday, 14th Jul 2010 11:47 Town’s Community Trust won the Not for Profit gong at the Anglian Business Awards last week. The Trust beat the East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH) and Menta who were also nominated in the category. Trust chief executive Terry Baxter says the award is a significant achievement for the Blues' charity: “We are delighted to have won such a prestigious award, especially since we were up against tough competition from two very worthy charitable causes. “The Trust works hard to improve the lives of those living in our local community, particularly using football as the motivating factor in our target areas of physical activity, health and education. To have received this recognition is a huge boost to everyone involved in our charity and we are looking forward to the forthcoming year.” The judges paid tribute to the dedication of the Community Trust’s staff and their wide-ranging work. The Community Trust, which was established by in 1997 and achieved charitable status in 2003, was initially formed to provide football in the community, but in recent years has developed a much wider role, raising achievement levels and promoting active and healthy lifestyles, primarily through the medium of sport.
