Carl Completes Iron Man Challenge Tuesday, 27th Apr 2010 10:13 Town Supporters Trust chairman Carl Day completed last Sunday’s London Marathon dressed in a 15th Century suit of armour in 11 hours and 20 minutes, raising more than £10,000 for the British Heart Foundation. Carl says he actually covered more ground than most of the runners: “In the end I had to lug the six and half stone suit of armour over 26.8 miles as I took a wrong turn at Canary Wharf and had to double back as all the signs and railings had been removed by then.” Carl was running for the British Heart Foundation because it is a charity which means a lot to him and his family: “My daughter Megan has a heart condition and the treatment she received was developed thanks to fundraising by the British Heart Foundation, so we feel we owe them a great deal. I did this to pay them back for that help.” Despite already surpassing his target of £10,000, Carl is still after donations which can be made here.
